WWE Championship Ladder Match
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens are set to have a ladder match for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble. Suspended above the ring will be Rhodes’ WWE Championship and the WWE Winged Eagle Championship currently held by Owens. The contract signing between the two got messy, and it ended with Owens receiving Sweet Chin Music from Shawn Michaels.
For months now, Rhodes and Owens have been feuding to no end. At Royal Rumble, they have the chance to brutalize each other as much as they want, and they could put an end to this madness. With the road to WrestleMania being in full swing, this match could be a pivotal one.
#DIY and MCMG Go To Battle
Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa, collectively known as #DIY, have just recently surpassed 50 days in their second reign as the WWE Tag Team Championship holders. At Royal Rumble, they defend the gold against The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin), who are former champions in their own right.
The tag team scene over on SmackDown has been quite tumultuous, and this match symbolizes that. #DIY and MCMG meet in a two-out-of-three falls match, and the winner will be determined by who has what it takes to get the job done.
Men’s Royal Rumble Match
The men’s Royal Rumble match is one of the most anticipated on this card, and for good reason. At the time of writing, half of the participants have been confirmed. Names such as John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Logan Paul are all set to be a part of the action, making for an interesting combination.
Of course, the winner will get to challenge for a championship at WrestleMania – could be the World Heavyweight Championship or the WWE Championship. It will be interesting to see who could walk away as the winner, as there are so many people who are quite motivated.
