Drew McIntyre Looks To Have His Moment At Damian Priest’s Cost

The feud between World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre has been building up for a number of weeks. With Clash at the Castle taking place in McIntyre’s home country, this sets the stage for ‘The Scottish Warrior’ to claim the gold.

McIntyre actually won the title at WrestleMania 40 but, due to his hyper-focus on CM Punk (who was on commentary for the match), Priest managed to (finally) cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Since then, McIntyre has been fixated on reclaiming the title.

McIntyre understood that, with Priest, there is also The Judgement Day, so he worked to eliminate that problem. At Clash at the Castle, Priest’s nearly 70-day reign comes under threat without The Judgement Day at his side. This could be McIntyre’s crowning moment (again), and it could happen in front of his home crowd.

Piper Niven Hopes To Dethrone Bayley And Win First Major Championship

Another Superstar representing Scotland will be Piper Niven. She will be challenging Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship, looking to end the champion’s second reign.
In the WWE, Niven has only won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship (with Chelsea Green), as well as the WWE 24/7 Championship twice. She now looks to change that by adding the major women’s title to her list of accolades and accomplishments.
Bayley will be making her second PLE title defense, following Backlash France, where she defeated Naomi and Tiffany Stratton. Both Bayley and Niven are determined to have the gold, and this will make for a cannot-miss match.

Cody Rhodes And AJ Styles Clash In “I Quit” Match

At Backlash France, Cody Rhodes made his first PLE title defense of the Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles. The champion managed to hold onto the title, and he is now heading towards 70 days as the titleholder.

The May 31 edition of SmackDown saw Styles seemingly announcing his retirement. This was believable considering that Styles has been a wrestler since 1998 but he had fooled the entire WWE Universe. Rhodes came out to the ring honoring Styles’ request, and it was soon revealed that this was all a planned attack on the champion.

The following week, the pair agreed to meet at Clash at the Castle, but the match would be an “I Quit” match. This is not a new concept to the WWE but it certainly adds an element of intrigue to the match and ups the stakes that much.
