Preview: WWE SmackDown (12/1/23) – Fallout from WWE Survivor Series 2023: WarGames

A graphic advertising the WWE SmackDown return of Randy Orton.

After one of the most shocking and unforgettable premium live events in WWE history, the blue brand finds its way to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for an all-new edition of WWE SmackDown. Last Saturday’s WWE Survivor Series 2023: WarGames was one for the books.

We saw the “Apex Predator” Randy Orton make his return, after almost a year on the shelf to help his old friend Cody Rhodes and his band of warriors defeat The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre. That’s a huge comeback on its own.

However, before the night ended, the ‘Prodigal Son’ CM Punk made his way back to the company in nearly a decade. A lot happened on that momentous night, and we deal with all the fallout on this week’s episode.

Without further ado, it’s Friday night fight night! Here’s a preview of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Let’s run it down.

Announced for WWE SmackDown:

  • Randy Orton Returns to SmackDown
  • WWE United States Champion Logan Paul Will Appear Live

The Mega Comeback of the Media Megastar

On the first day of December, the WWE United States Champion Logan Paul returns to SmackDown since dethroning Rey Mysterio back at Crown Jewel.

While he was getting his affairs in order before returning to the Friday Night brand, Paul has been in a frenzy on social media, showcasing how proud he is being a champion in WWE.

Paul has gone on the record stating that he wants to be more present inside the squared circle now that he’s holding one of the company’s top prizes. This Friday night, Paul steps into the pressure cooker, now being the hunted rather than the hunter.

What will the U.S. Champion say to the WWE Universe and who will potentially step up to the plate first to try and pry the gold away from Logan Paul?

Slithering Back to SmackDown

As mentioned earlier, Randy Orton is back and he looks better than ever after making his grand re-entry into the company back at Survivor Series. He hit one of the sickest-looking RKOs ever, last Saturday, and he looks to dole out a lot more for the foreseeable future.

Dominik Mysterio experienced firsthand how devastating Orton still is on this last Monday’s WWE Raw, with Randy beating the ever-living daylights out of the NXT North American Champion.

That said, Randy seems like he has some unfinished business with The Bloodline.

While he has mended fences with former Bloodline member Jey Uso, it seems like Orton still has some unfinished business with the ‘Head of the Table,” his wise man, Jimmy Uso, and Solo Sikoa. Find out what “The Viper” has in store for everyone this Friday night, and a lot more on WWE SmackDown!
