Preview: Pro Wrestling NOAH – NOAH the Best 2023 (12/2/23)

Pro Wrestling NOAH's "NOAH the Best" 2023 event poster.

Pro Wrestling NOAH returns to PPV this weekend live from the famous Yokohama Budokan Arena with a stacked lineup featuring the roster of NOAH and a very special tag team main event. GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh will team up with his teacher Jinsei Shinzaki to face former KONGOH partner Manabu Soya and one of his trainers, Tatsumi Fujinami, in the headlining match as a preview for the GHC Heavyweight Championship match on January 2nd.

This PPV will also be streaming live via ABEMA TV, with a later VOD wrestleUNIVERSE appearance. NOAH is coming off a very exciting month for November for the promotion; new champions were recently crowned with the junior and tag team divisions, and the prestigious GHC National Championship changed hands.

Here’s a preview of NOAH The Best 2023 this weekend live from Yokohama Budokan.

After their GHC Event Championship match, former allies Kenoh & Manabu Soya will tag alongside their teachers in a special tag team match. This will be the first time former NJPW star Tatsumi Fujinami will compete inside a Pro Wrestling NOAH ring since 2017 but the landscape has changed majorly since then. Leading up to this show. Kenoh has had the momentum edge over his challenger during the preview tags, but expect a different result here with the senpais involved in this outing.

Naomichi Marufuji will team alongside Go Shiozaki, Takashi Sugiura, Shuji Kondo & Junta Miyawaki to face Good Looking Guys (Jake Lee, Anthony Greene, YO-HEY, Tadasuke & LJ Cleary) in a tag team match on the undercard.

Jack Morris, one-half of the current GHC Event Tag Team Champions, will make his first defense against Hajime O’Hara on the undercard. The match came about due to O’Hara winning a 1 Contender’s battle royale last week during the NOAH “MONDAY MAGIC” episode.

Post-match, Morris gloated in his challenger’s face and is taking him lightly. Don’t expect a title change here since it seems like NOAH is all in on Jack Morris, and the singles push is rightfully earned; the Scotsman has been killing it since his initial debut with the promotion.

El Hijo de Dr. Wagner teams alongside former GHC Heavyweight Champion Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa to face REAL (Timothy Thatcher, Saxon Huxley & Shuhei Taniguchi) in a trios match on the undercard.

Former GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion HAYATA teams alongside Eita, GHC Jr. Challenger for Ariake Arena, will face the Atsushi Kotoge & Hi69 team in a Jrss showcase match on the undercard.

Former GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Masa Kitamiya & Daiki Inaba will be looking to get a rebound win following their GHC loss in Korakuen Hall as the duo faces Stallion Rodgers & Vinnie Massaro in a tag team match at Yokohama Budokan.

The newly crowned GHC Hardcore Champion Ninja Mack will team alongside Alejandro & X-Treme Tiger to face Super Crazy, Terry Yaki & Alpha Zo in a trios match on the undercard.

LEONA & Kai Fujimura vs Taishi Ozawa & Yu Owada will open the card for the upcoming Yokohama Budokan special PPV event. This will further the building for NOAH “The New Year 2024” on January 2nd.
