It’s Sting!!!!.. Addressing the fans!

Sting will be addressing the fans, and this lone announcement has caused wrestling fans to speculate if “The Stinger” will be calling an end to his illustrious career. It would be foolish to pretend this isn’t a possibility; the man is 64 years old and has wrestled for half his life. If the sun is indeed setting on The Icon’s career, it will be a well-earned retirement.

The fact we’ve been able to see him perform in AEW is a blessing, considering his career was supposedly over after his match with Seth Rollins back at the 2015 WWE Night of Champions show. Still, I can’t help but feel this isn’t the end yet for the celebrated veteran.

I do not doubt that Sting is nearing the end of his career, but I don’t see him ending it by merely speaking to the fans. If anything, I could see this setting up Sting’s final feud for his last match. Maybe it won’t be a feud; perhaps he’ll just ask Darby Allin to be his last opponent.  Sting could also swerve all of us and announce he’s signed a ten-year talent contract. I know it’s not likely, but the fact this run is even happening was deemed impossible at one point.

Whatever Sting decides to do, he will have the love and support of the fans all the way. If the man decides to wash off the face paint forever and put down the baseball bat, we will celebrate him. Should he choose to lace up the boots another five years, we will be grateful. Sting, no matter what, we are all here. Thank you for everything.
