Preview: AEW Dynamite Card Tonight (3/22/23) – El Hijo de Vikingo AEW Debut

AEW Dynamite - Kenny Omega Hijo Del Vikingo

All Elite Wrestling brings its flagship program AEW Dynamite to the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Missouri! On this night, we shall see the AEW World Tag Team Titles defended. A dream match built up over two years finally happens. Plus, a grudge match between two of the company’s most physical competitors.

Let’s get the ball rolling as it’s sure to be another exciting edition of the #AllElite promotion’s premier Wednesday night wrestling show. It’s almost Wednesday night, and you know what that means! This is a preview of this week’s AEW Dynamite. Let’s run it down.

Full AEW Dynamite Match Card:

  • No Disqualification Match: Hook vs. Stokely Hathaway
  • Jon Moxley vs. Stu Grayson
  • Toni Storm vs. Skye Blue
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: The Gunns (c) vs. Top Flight
  • Dream Match: Kenny Omega vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

Settling Grudges

On last week’s episode of Dynamite, the Blackpool Combat Club and The Dark Order absolutely battered each other in a Trios Match, that marked the return of the AEW original and faction founding father Stu Grayson. From bell to bell it was intense, hard-hitting, and reeked of disdain as these two teams wanted to end one another then and there in the Canada Life Centre.

While the BCC won the contest, albeit under somewhat dubious circumstances, it seems like Moxley and Grayson still has some unfinished business. Jon finished the match off by submitting the Dark Order founding member but held onto the choke well after the bell has sounded. It’s safe to say that Stu did not take kindly to the unsportsmanlike behavior and wants to settle the score this Wednesday night.

He will be able to do so as it will be him and Moxley, one-on-one in a Grudge Match!

Battling the “Best Bout Machine”

A dream match, two years in the making, finally happens this Wednesday night as the “Best Bout Machine” Kenny Omega takes on one of the hottest young prospects in professional wrestling today El Hijo del Vikingo. Omega has been pining for this match since 2021 and for good reason. El Hijo del Vikingo is an amazing talent and whenever he went to wrestle, whether it’s in AAA where he is the current Mega Champion, or IMPACT Wrestling in its World Cup, the up-and-comer has been nothing short of spectacular.

If you’ve seen this Hispanic star perform, then it would be no surprise why, arguably, the best wrestler on the planet wants to face him. This Wednesday night, it’s the right place and the right time. It’s Kenny Omega versus El Hijo del Vikingo; the fantasy contest comes to fruition, and it all happens live on AEW Dynamite only on TBS!

AEW Gets Modern Masculinity

When it comes to AEW and their presentation of men and male relationships in storylines and characters, I don’t think the company gets enough credit. Sports generally
