Coming to you live from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA, WWE SmackDown tonight is set to feature a huge tag team rematch and a very special birthday celebration for an Olympic gold medalist in his hometown. Let’s take a look at the announced WWE SmackDown card for his week’s Friday Night SmackDown.

Sheamus and Butch to Challenge Usos for Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles

Everything is coming up Bloodline these days. Every single little thing. Following Sami Zayn’s betrayal of Kevin Owens at Survivor Series, WWE’s main Usologist is firmly in Roman Reigns’ camp. Zayn has finally and fully been embraced by his brothers from another mother and is a focal point of Bloodline stories week in and week out. In fact, while Reigns is certainly WWE’s key draw these days, there is a reason why Zayn is the guy when Reigns is off TV. On WWE SmackDown tonight, he’ll join Solo Sikoa in cornering Jimmy and Jey Uso as they look to continue their dominant run as tag team champions.

They’ll face a familiar foe as Sheamus and Butch team up to try to dethrone the historic champs a Butch fills in for an injured Drew McIntyre for this all-important bout. The Usos and Brawling Brutes have been in each other’s faces for quite some time but Jimmy and Jey have never faced this duo before outside of a few hours show matches, having primarily taken on Butch and Ridge Holland or recently, Sheamus and McIntyre. Perhaps that will be the formula for the Brawling Brutes to finally take the titles away from the Usos on WWE SmackDown tonight. Or, more likely, history will repeat itself as the Usos, no doubt with the assistance of Zayn and younger brother Sikoa, will continue to reign supreme. The Bloodline will reign supreme. At least until the Royal Rumble. That’s when things could start to get interesting assuming a certain Hollywood megastar has some time on his hands in the coming months…

SmackDown Tonight: Kurt Angle’s 54th Birthday Bash

Get prepared to sing your best rendition of Jimmy Crack Corn and pull out the milk for a celebratory toast as WWE is set to celebrate the 54th birthday of former world champion and Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Angle. WWE SmackDown tonight marks Angle’s return to WWE for the first time since August. So what does WWE have in store for the celebratory affair? Well, not much has been revealed at the time of this writing. In fact, WWE’s website merely states this: “Celebrate the WWE Hall of Famer that won the Olympic Gold Medal with a broken freaking neck. Don’t miss Kurt Angle’s birthday celebration, this Friday at 8/7 C on FOX.”

That’s not much to go off of but given the birthday party is in Angle’s hometown and is being billed as one of just two things announced for WWE SmackDown tonight, one might expect to see some surprise guests either in person or on video, a nicely set ring, and of course a heel antagonist that talks about Angle’s glory days being behind him only to get caught in the Angle Lock or an Olympic Slam. Oh it’s true, it’s damn true.

All this and probably more (because its a two-hour show, which requires more matches than one) on WWE SmackDown tonight on FOX.
