Preview: WWE SmackDown Card (9/9/22) – Return of Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman Returns to SmackDown

Friday Night SmackDown is here once more! Though it feels like an eternity has passed in the days since, we are now six days removed from a largely successful Clash at the Castle premium live event, which saw Roman Reigns successfully overcome Drew McIntyre to retain his WWE Universal and WWE Championship in the main event of the show hosted at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff. Whereas not a whole lot is currently announced for tonight’s SmackDown, outside of the return of Braun Strowman, there is much to speculate. Let’s dive right in.

The Bloodline Expands

As mentioned in our opening, Roman Reigns was successful in overcoming the “Scottish Psychopath” in front of a home crowd (kind of) in Cardiff, Wales. However, he didn’t do so with ease – once more relying on a blood relative to hold on to the gold. This time, it was neither The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) nor adopted Uce, Sami Zayn, who would assist the Tribal Chief in remaining at the Head of the Table. Instead, it was Jimmy and Jey’s younger brother, Solo Sikoa, who would come to the aid of Reigns. In doing so, he has clearly aligned with The Bloodline as the stable grows in strength (and numbers) once more. Tonight, Solo – as well as Roman – will address the WWE fans, as well as Drew McIntyre. What’s next for McIntyre? A feud with Karrion Kross looks likely, so expect to see more there.

The Return of Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman Returns to SmackDown

On this past episode of Monday Night Raw, Braun Strowman returned to dominate a bunch of tag teams, single-handedly, before announcing his intention to go to SmackDown. Well, SmackDown is here, so one can assume we might see the Monster Among Men tonight. What will he do? Who will he squish? We will have to wait and see. What’s certain, though, is we will find out tonight, live on FOX at 8/7c.

Not Announced But Expected for SmackDown

– In a miracle for the ages, Liv Morgan scored an upset victory over Shayna Baszler last Saturday. With the currently suspended Ronda Rousey lurking in the shadows, her celebrations might be cut short.

Gunther and Sheamus stole the show at Clash at the Castle. In a true five star, hard-hitting spectacle, Gunther was victorious over the brawling Irishman. With Gunther’s Imperium stable having reunited at the event, might we see a continued feud between Imperium and Sheamus’ Brawling Brutes? Tune in to find out.
