Preview: WWE Raw (8/15/22) – Bobby Lashley Faces AJ Styles

WWE Raw Featuring Bobby Lashley vs AJ Styles

It’s been a few weeks since WWE Raw found itself under the creative leadership of Triple H and to say that the stakes are high would be an understatement. From old faces returning to big matches being scheduled, it seems like there is a renewed interest in the product at large. This week’s show promises to be no different, either. On this week’s WWE Raw, Bobby Lashley defends the United States Championship against AJ Styles in a first-time singles match. We will also see continued action in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament and much more. Here’s what to expect.

WWE Raw (8/15/22) – What to Expect

Riddle Gives Update on His Future

One of the major items to keep an eye on, as we head into this week’s Monday Night Raw, is a sitdown interview with former United States and Raw Tag Team Champion Riddle. At SummerSlam, “The Original Bro” was the recipient of a sneak attack by Seth “Freakin'” Rollins. The attack was so severe that Riddle has not been seen since. On this week’s WWE Raw, Riddle sits down for an exclusive interview, where he will give an update on his future. What is his physical status? How will the aforementioned attack keep Riddle out of action, if at all? These are just a few questions that fans should expect to be answered on Monday night.

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament Continues

Next, the action within the women’s tag team division rolls out. In the ongoing WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament, new allies Alexa Bliss and Asuka take on Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop. It’s important to note that Bliss, Asuka, and Nikki are all former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. In fact, Bliss and Nikki held the titles together on two occasions prior to the latter’s transformation into “Almost a Superhero.” Now, these former partners find themselves on opposite ends of the squared circle. Only one team can advance in the tournament; see who moves forward on Monday Night Raw.

Bobby Lashley Clashes With AJ Styles on WWE Raw

In the featured match of the night, this week’s Monday Night Raw will see the United States Championship defended. Bobby Lashley, the current titleholder, will defend against AJ Styles in a first-time singles match. Given the statuses of the men involved as veterans of the ring, it’s difficult to imagine that they haven’t faced each other one-on-one until this point. Styles earned this title opportunity two weeks ago, first winning a triple threat match also featuring Mustafa Ali and The Miz before overcoming Ciampa later that night. Styles is no stranger to the United States title, having won the gold on 3 occasions. Can “The Phenomenal One” become a 4x United States Championship with a big win over “The All Mighty?”
