Preview: AEW Dynamite (7/13/22) – Fyter Fest, Week One

AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest Week One

All Elite Wrestling heats up Savannah, Georgia, with the first night of AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest emanating from the Enmarket Arena. Two momentous weeks of Fyter Fest kick off this Wednesday night live on TBS. Let us preview the action for this Wednesday night, AEW Dynamite, as both the TNT and AEW World Tag Team Titles will be on the line. A Japanese sensation has the opportunity of a lifetime hanging in the balance on AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest, Week One as well.

Plus, two former partners reunite. However, only this time, they’re on opposite sides. If the first night of the annual summer event is anything to go by, these two weeks of AEW programming will be one for the record books. Let’s not keep anyone waiting any longer, it’s Wednesday night, after all, and you know what that means! Time for some Dynamite. Let’s run it down.

AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest, Week One Card:

  • Claudio Castagnoli vs. Jake Hager
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: The Young Bucks (c) vs. Swerve in Our Glory vs. Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs
  • We Hear from Christian Cage & Luchasaurus
  • Anna Jay vs. Serena Deeb
  • TNT Championship Match: Wardlow (c) vs. Orange Cassidy
  • AEW Interim World Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Former Friends Turned Bitter Rivals

The Blackpool Combat Club and Jericho Appreciation Society’s respective behemoths collide this Wednesday night on Fyter FestClaudio Castagnoli and Jake Hager have a tremendous, shared history. Both athletes were part of a dominant tag team once upon a time, and most thought if they were kept together long enough, they could’ve been a force to be reckoned with.

Once aligned with a common cause, these two now find themselves at odds with one another. With Castagnoli gaining the submission victory for the BCC back at Blood and Guts, Hager looks to avenge the JAS’ loss by stepping in the ring with his former ally. Who will come out of this clash of the titans victorious? Will it be the monstrous MMA star Jake Hager? Or will the Swiss butt-kicking machine chalk up another win?

The Ultimate Test

After tearing the house down with one Eddie KingstonKonosuke Takeshita finds himself amid a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The DDT Pro-Wrestling phenom will compete in an AEW Interim World Title Eliminator Match against the champion himself, Jon Moxley. Takeshita was beyond impressive last Friday night on AEW Rampage, albeit in a losing effort.

Somebody sure took notice, as the Japanese star is one step away from competing for the richest prize in pro wrestling. His tremendous skillset and “never say die” attitude were on full display on last week’s Rampage, and he took Eddie to his absolute limit. Konosuke will undoubtedly bring his “A” game this Wednesday night. While it won’t be easy, considering the man standing across from will be Jon Moxley.

Can Konosuke Takeshita pull it off and become the number one contender? Or will Jon Moxley crush another dream in his path of destruction? Find out this Wednesday only on TBS!
