Preview: AEW Dynamite Road Rager Card (6/15/22)

AEW Road Rager - Jericho vs Ortiz Graphic

Last week, the whole #AllElite landscape was flipped on its head with the arrival of various New Japan Pro Wrestling stars. The war is truly on for Forbidden Door and it will definitely be an event for the ages. However, for now, the All Elite Wrestling action does not stop as AEW presents a special edition of AEW Dynamite entitled Road Rager.

On this week’s Dynamite, qualifiers for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship four-way continue. It’s Hair versus Hair between two former friends. Plus, the “War Dog” looks to continue causing mayhem. Each week of AEW just keeps on getting better and better. Surely, Road Rager will not be an exception. It’s Wednesday night after all, and you know what that means! Time for some AEW Dynamite! Let’s run it down.

Full AEW Dynamite Road Rager Match Card:

  • 20 on 1 “Class Action” Handicap Elimination Match: Plaintiffs vs. Wardlow
  • All-Atlantic Championship – Qualifying Match: Ethan Page vs. Miro
  • Hair vs. Hair Match: Chris Jericho vs. Ortiz
  • Toni Storm vs Britt Baker
  • Tag Team Championship Ladder Match: Jurassic Express (c) vs Young Bucks
  • Dax Harwood vs Will Ospreay
  • Hiroshi Tanahashi and Jon Moxley face-to-face

Playing Fire with Fire

Ortiz may have committed one of the most egregious acts you can do to a legend like Chris Jericho. A few weeks back, Ortiz would get ahold of “The Wizard’s” golden locks and preceded to cut a chunk of it. Naturally, this enraged the “Sports Entertainer” who laid down the gauntlet; hair versus hair. Ortiz being the competitor he is, immediately accepted without even batting an eye.

However, this isn’t just because of trivial things like hair. These two former friends were as thick as thieves at one point. It’s crazy to imagine that it all came down to this, two war brothers wanting to dismantle each other limb from limb. Regardless of the circumstances, this match has the potential to steal the show, so don’t you dare miss it. It’s Jericho taking on Ortiz; hair versus hair, who will come out the other side?

Go for Gold

Last week on Dynamite, the All-Atlantic Championship was unveiled to much fanfare. The championship is AEW’s way of paying tribute to its loyal fans and their continued support for all these years. The inaugural champion will be crowned at Forbidden Door in a four-way match.

On the West side of the bracket, PAC was the first to qualify, after tearing the house down with one Buddy Matthews. PAC advances to Forbidden Door as he awaits the three men he will have to go through for the title. Qualifiers for the four-way dance continue as Canada’s own Ethan Page battles the Bulgarian beast Miro. “The Redeemer” made his triumphant return to AEW a few weeks back, totally dismantling AEW’s newest signee Johnny Elite.

Miro looks better than ever and is undoubtedly prime to gain gold sooner rather than later. However, the man across from him is someone who is sick of being overlooked. Ethan Page will do everything in his power to not be bypassed any longer. Whether it’s Miro, or anybody else, Page will give it his at all to be crowned the first-ever AEW All-Atlantic Champion. Who will advance and join PAC at Forbidden Door? Tune into TBS live this Wednesday night and find out on Road Rager!
