Mercedes Martinez is the new undisputed Ring of Honor (ROH) Women’s World Champion. She defeated Deonna Purrazzo this week on AEW Dynamite to unify the titles.

Mercedes Martinez Captures Undisputed ROH Women’s World Champion
Deonna Purrazzo made her AEW debut tonight and walked in as the ROH Women’s World Champion. She defeated Rok–C for the title earlier this year on an episode of IMPACT on AXS TV. Shortly after her win, the announcement was made that Tony Khan had purchased ROH. Purrazzo was unable to defend the title at the first event under the new regime Supercard of Honor. An interim title match was made that saw Mercedes Martinez defeat Willow Nightingale for an interim championship.
Martinez walked into Dynamite tonight as the interim champion and walked out as the undisputed champion. She adds this accomplishment to her list of championships in other promotions such as SHIMMER and SHINE.
The last couple of weeks has been rough for Deonna Purrazzo. She lost her AAA Reina de Reinas Championship to Taya Valkyrie at Rebellion a couple of weeks ago. She will get her rematch for the title this weekend at IMPACT Wrestling Under Siege. This loss to Martinez will not help her momentum going into the match this weekend.
