#TheCollective: Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 Part 1 Preview (3/31/22)

Joey Janela's Spring Break 6 Part 1: Jon Moxley vs AJ Gray Match Graphic

One of the annual highlights of The Collective is Joey Janela’s Spring Break. It’s an event that mixes great wrestling with nostalgia, galaxy-brained match-making, and a raucous GCW crowd. This year’s edition looks no different so let’s take a look at what’s on tap for Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 Part 1.

Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 Part 1 Full Card

  • GCW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs AJ Gray

X-Pac vs Joey Janela

One of the first-ever “indie darlings” X-Pac will take on Joey Janela in a heated clash. It is fitting that X-Pac, who once helped to open people’s eyes to the wonders of unsigned talents, will have a big spot here at one of independent wrestling’s biggest shows of the year.

This match was set up over the past month when Pac teamed with Janela at GCW Welcome to Heartbreak in a winning effort against the Major Players. Despite getting the win, Janela turned on X-Pac post-match and set up this grudge match for Spring Break 6 Part 1.

Blake Christian vs AR Fox

This is one of the more eye-catching matches of the weekend as new-age high flyer Blake Christian takes on one of the most respected daredevils on the U.S. indie scene in AR Fox. Fox, at his best, is an awe-inspiring flyer who has wowed audiences all over the U.S. for over a decade.

If these two let loose and go all out then this could end up being one of the best matches of the entire weekend.

Jon Moxley vs AJ Gray

Former champion AJ Gray looks to get the proper world title reign that was stolen from him as he takes on Jon Moxley, who has been GCW champion for over 200 days. Gray’s previous stint as GCW worked champion saw him end Nick Gage’s 722 day reign before immediately losing it to Rickey Shane Page, thus kicking off one of the biggest storylines in GCW history. Ever since then Gray has been trying to reclaim the title.

This match is sure to be rugged. Moxley and Gray are both tough guys willing to take some punishment in order to get the win. Getting the win will simply be a matter of outlasting the opponent.
