Guerrillas of Destiny Kicked Out of Bullet Club

What to Know Following Shocking NJPW Event

One of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s most acclaimed tag teams have had their stay in wrestling’s most recognizable modern faction ended brutally by the faction’s remaining members. Bullet Club founding member Tama Tonga, and his brother Tanga Loa, have reigned as IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions for a record 7-times as the Guerrillas of Destiny.

The brothers have reigned as tag champions for more than 750 days, over the course of their seven reigns, and have defended their titles a near-record 11 times alongside one another. It was during EVIL’s victory over Tama Tonga in the New Japan Cup second round that chaos ensued. Dick Togo tied a garrote around Tonga’s neck before Jado came up from behind to do the same to Togo. Then, allegiances became clear as G.O.D were shunted out of the Club.

In the post-match melee, the Guerrillas of Destiny were left lying in the ring below a sea of ‘Too Sweets’ led by Gedo. Even the decades-long brotherly relationship between Gedo and Jado couldn’t withstand the tensions, as Gedo shockingly turned on his bredrin. The beaten bodies of Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and Jado lay motionless as the united Bullet Club celebrated their ferocious antics. While splinter groups have haunted the Club for many years, never before has it tormented the group more so than over the past few months.

With the House of Torture, traditional Bullet Club and Jay White’s collective in the U.S.A. seemingly struggling to remain on the same page, an eruption of the group was bound to happen. So far, the only victims are G.O.D, and their cornerman Jado. Though, maybe more Bullet Club members will fall due to the group’s self-consuming tensions.
