IMPACT No Surrender 2022: A Night of Betrayal

Jay White IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary IMPACT No Surrender

IMPACT No Surrender 2022 is in the books. The night was eventful as a new number one contender was crowned for the X-Division Title, and Miranda Alize returned to IMPACT to answer an open challenge from Deonna Purrazzo. Two stories stand out from the rest, however. No Surrender 2022 was a night of betrayal in IMPACT Wrestling.

Jay White Turns on G.O.D

The Guerrillas of Destiny challenged The Good Brothers for the IMPACT Tag Team Titles. Towards the end of the match, Chris Bey made his way to the ring. He distracted the referee which allowed Jay White to enter the ring. It was quickly apparent that he was not there to support his Bullet Club stablemates G.O.D. He quickly dropped G.O.D and allowed The Good Brothers to retain their titles.

After the match, Bey, White, and The Good Brothers tossed up a Too Sweet over the defeated G.O.D. It seems as Jay White has betrayed G.O.D in favor of welcoming The Good Brothers back into Bullet Club. That was not the last betrayal of the night, however.

Eddie Edwards Betrays Team IMPACT At No Surrender 2022

Eddie Edwards was scheduled to be part of Team IMPACT in the five-on-five match against Honor No More. He was taken out backstage earlier in the night and pulled from the match. Willie Mack stepped up and took his place in the match.

Towards the end of the match, the referee was taken down after an accidental shot from Steve Maclin. Shortly after Maria Kanellis entered the ring and tried to give Honor No More an advantage. Edwards came to the ring with Kenny the kendo stick in hand. After grabbing Maria he suddenly attacked members of Team IMPACT with the kendo stick, allowing Honor No More to pick up the win. Edwards who is known as “The Heartbeat of IMPACT” is also the first-ever ROH Television Champion. It appears he has returned to his ROH roots in the conclusion of a night of betrayals at IMPACT Wrestling No Surrender.
