Preview: WWE — NXT Vengeance Day (2/15/22)

Bron Breakker vs Santos Escobar | NXT Vengeance Day

NXT 2.0 will bring forth another special TV event Tuesday night as it is time for Vengeance Day. The entire card is fitting of an old TakeOver show but instead, it’s free for the world to see. Bron Breakker will defend his NXT Championship for the very first time in the main event while the Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will come to a close. Two other title matches and a Weaponized Steel Cage match fill out the rest of the card. Here’s a look at the NXT Vengeance Day card with match previews for the finals and main event.

NXT Vengeance Day Card:

– Pete Dunne vs. Tony D’Angelo in a Weaponized Steel Cage Match
– Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals: MSK vs. The Creed Brothers
– NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship: Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta
– NXT North American Championship: Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Cameron Grimes
– NXT Championship: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Santos Escobar

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals: MSK vs. The Creed Brothers

MSK are the defending Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winners and have an opportunity to be the first-ever two-time winners. The challenge of The Creed Brothers, however, is not one to overlook as Julius Creed and Brutus Creed have looked unstoppable together. They’re fresh off a win over the Grizzled Young Veterans, a team that had been to the finals over the last two years. Everything about The Creed Brothers screams superstars but MSK’s experience should play into this match. One thing that is for sure is that the mixture of the high-flying style of MSK against the powerhouse of The Creed Brothers should make for a special match.

Prediction: The Creed Brothers

NXT Championship: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Santos Escobar

Bron Breakker has been the real deal since the moment he stepped into NXT. There are zero reasons to believe that in his first defense of the NXT Championship he loses. That being said, Santos Escobar is going to be one heck of a first challenge. Escobar was dominant as the NXT Cruiserweight Champion and seems adamant about showing the world that he’s worthy of the top spot in NXT. Legado del Fantasma looks more united than ever which only bolsters the chances of Escobar pulling off the upset over the young champion. Breakker has weaknesses but many of those weaknesses have yet to be uncovered. Escobar is a worthy challenger and a good one at that but NXT 2.0 is Breakker’s house until he says otherwise.

Plus there are the outside causes of both Tommaso Ciampa and Monday Night Raw’s Dolph Ziggler that he has to worry about. Those seem to be potential title defenses on the horizon for Breakker.

Prediction: Bron Breakker
