A Major Debut on Elevation

Former 205 Live star Jake Atlas makes his AEW debut on this week’s episode of Dark: Elevation when he takes on Serpentico!

Atlas was one of the bright lights of WWE’s much-overlooked cruiserweight division, working with other current AEW signees like Tony Nese and 2point0. Like those other talents, however, Atlas was let go as part of WWE’s never-ending cuts of 2021. Atlas had flirted with the idea of retiring from wrestling altogether following his release, but appeared at Game Changer Wrestling’s EFFY’s Big Gay Brunch Chicago and Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor, both in September, before taking the next few months off.

Whether Atlas has signed with AEW or if he’s just passing through isn’t clear at this point. There are rumors that he is in fact All Elite, and Atlas could have great matches with the likes of Daniel Garcia and Bobby Fish. At the same time, Tony Khan recently stated that he’s going to have to slow down on the talent signings after binging all last year, so whether or not Atlas makes the cut — or even wants to make the cut at this point — is yet to be seen.

At any rate, it should be interesting to see him in an AEW ring against Serpentico on this week’s edition of Dark: Elevation!
