Preview: WWE NXT 2.0 (12/7/21) – WarGames Fallout

NXT 2.0 WarGames Fallout

This past Sunday night was the first special event of the NXT 2.0 era as it was time for WarGames. It saw the new generation of talent come out on top in the main event as Bron Breakker pinned the NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa. But that isn’t the biggest news coming out of the show and all of that will be addressed on Tuesday night’s edition of NXT 2.0 with Johnny Gargano planning to tell all and Kyle O’Reilly stepping inside an NXT ring potentially one final time. Here’s the preview for NXT 2.0, the WarGames fallout.

Johnny Gargano Tells All Regarding Future in NXT

The future of Johnny Gargano might be the most questionable when it comes to anyone in WWE or wrestling as a whole. As Fightful has reported in the past, Gargano’s contract was extended through Tuesday’s NXT so that he could compete in WarGames. WarGames has now come and gone with all indications that Gargano’s time in NXT is coming to an end. That doesn’t necessarily mean that his time in WWE is, but he said in an exclusive video that was posted on WWE social media that he would be telling the fans everything Tuesday.

We have seen this before with “Johnny Wrestling,” as it was NXT TakeOver: Toronto in 2019 that many believed he was on his way out of the black and gold brand. Of course, that wasn’t the case and he has since remained on the brand for two more years. Gargano’s wife and NXT superstar Candice LeRae has hinted at his departure as well, saying that it was all about the journey and that his entrance would be a special one — which it was. No matter what Gargano has in-store for NXT and the wrestling world Tuesday night, it feels a must-see.

Kyle O’Reilly Faces Von Wagner Inside a Steel Cage

Sunday night saw Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner come up short in their quest to become NXT Tag Team Champions when Imperium handed them defeat. After the match as the crowd chanted “Thank You Kyle,” due to what many believe will be his eventual departure from the company, Wagner attempted to turn on his short-term tag team partner. But in a first, O’Reilly managed to avoid the clothesline and turn it into an Axe and Smash before leaving Wagner laying in the middle of the ring. O’Reilly proceeded to hit an Undisputed Era taunt before walking out.

In a post-match interview, O’Reilly took it one step further by challenging Wagner to step inside a Steel Cage with him to settle it once and for all. The rising Wagner accepted, setting up what should be NXT 2.0’s main event for Tuesday night.
