Preview: AEW Saturday Night Dynamite (10/16/21)

AEW Saturday Night Dynamite 10-16-21

All Elite Wrestling’s flagship show heats up Miami, Florida for a special AEW Saturday Night Dynamite. Saturday night shows for AEW tend to be a must-see event over its past iterations and it looks like this edition will not be any different. The James L. Knight Center will play host to another big night of #AllElite action and possibly big surprises to come.

On this week’s Dynamite, AEW’s hottest young prospect takes on the patriarch of “The House of Black.” Competitors will be announced for the upcoming AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. The AAA World Tag Team Championship will be on the line as the masked titleholders take on unidentified close friends of “The Idol.” Last, but not least, “The American Dragon” takes on AEW’s newest devastating signee. Different day, the same pace. It might be Saturday night, but we still know what that means! Time for some Dynamite. Let’s run it down.

Lucha Showdown

The Lucha Brothers have not only reigned supreme as AEW’s World Tag Team Champions but they’ve also been Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s World Tag Team Champions for over 800 days. Rey Fenix and his brother Penta El Zero Miedo have been on a roll of a lifetime as of late. It would not be far-fetched to say that they are the best tag team in the world right now. With that being said, “The Face of the Latinos” Andrade El Idolo looks to dethrone the masked wonders and take the AAA tag team titles away from them this Saturday night. Death Triangle, as a whole, has been a prime target for Andrade. First, it was PAC and now, he wants to get his hands on Penta and Fenix, even if it’s not exactly him that’s doing it.

It has been announced that this Saturday night, the AAA World Tag Team Championship will be on the line. The Lucha Brothers will defend against a masked tag team that happens to be very close with El Idolo. Albeit being vague, The Lucha Brothers will be up for a fight even if they don’t know what El Idolo has up his sleeve. Fighting champions to their core, no matter who steps through those curtains, The Lucha Brothers will give them their best game. So, they better be ready and you better not miss it.

Knock-Down, Drag-Out Fight

Bryan Danielson and Bobby Fish look to tear the house down as they face off one on one this Saturday night on Dynamite. Since arriving in AEW, Danielson has been quite the thorn in the side of The Elite. He and AEW World Champion Kenny Omega had a classic back at Grand Slam that most fans feel warrants a rematch. However, on this momentous night, he needs to focus on one man and one man alone: Bobby Fish. Fish took TNT Champion Sammy Guevara to the limit last week in his AEW debut. Fish just came up a bit short, but fans witnessed the devastating nature and ability Fish brings to the table. When Bryan Danielson had his media scrum after All Out, he stated that he wasn’t in AEW to make friends. He just wanted to fight and kick people’s heads off.

Bobby Fish might be the perfect opponent that Danielson needs; Fish is skilled fighter that is willing to go the extra mile to secure a victory. Danielson is the same way, so we’re in for a master class in technical mastery and brutality this weekend in Miami. Two of the most talented wrestlers walking the earth collide on a special edition of AEW Dynamite, live on TNT!
