CM Punk vs. Daniel Garcia

CM Punk has made Rampage his home very quickly as he continues to take on the freshest and newest faces to the mainstream professional wrestling scene. After both Darby Allin and Powerhouse Hobbs fell victim to Punk, it was time for Daniel Garcia to show what he had in the tank. Garcia, as he does, made the right leg of Punk his target and utilized 2point0 to get an advantage that he otherwise wouldn’t have one-on-one with Punk. Every moment of offense for the young grappler was attacking the leg, understanding that the majority of Punk’s offense came through the legs. Chop blocks, submissions, and complete manipulation were the offense for Garcia. The turning point in the match came when Garcia went for a tackle and was met by a knee to the face.

Punk would pull out the old-school Pepsi Twist in this one, getting the closest near fall of the match. Somehow “Red Death” never failed to keep wrestling back, even locking in his signature Sharpshooter on. This is a move he has defeated multiple men within AEW already, so getting it on Punk was the biggest of surprises. Punk would escape by pushing Garcia into Lee and Parker on both sides of the ring. “The Best in the World” would clean them out with a dive from the top rope to the outside. He’d hit his signature Springboard Clothesline before finishing off Garcia with a Piledriver and the Anaconda Vise submission. Punk turns back the clock time and time again with this being the most eye-opening of the bunch possibly. Great match and showing by both competitors.
