Ryo Mizunami Announces Return to America and AEW

Ryo Mizunami

At SEAdLINNNG‘s show in Shinjuku, Ryo Mizunami successfully defended her Beyond the Sea title, for the second time, against Yuu. However, not long after, it was announced that Mizunami would be leaving Japan and heading straight back to the US to work with All Elite Wrestling again. The specific date of the AEW return of Ryo Mizunami has yet to be confirmed.

Although it was known that Ryo Mizunami would return to AEW, it was quite a surprise move since SEAdLINNNG only has two titles. With her leaving for the United States, with the Beyond the Sea Championship, it means that the joshi promotion will only be left with the Beyond the Sea Tag Team Championship. The latter championship is currently held by Hiroyo Matsumoto and Nanae Takahashi; at the aforementioned Shinjuku show, they defeated ASUKA and Makoto of Las Fresa de Egoistas for the titles.

It’s currently not yet known just what she will be doing over there. However, it has been confirmed that she will be there until at least December. Hopefully, this means that the Beyond the Sea Championship will be defended against some of the women signed to AEW. Given that the NWA World Women’s Championship has been defended on AEW programming, on multiple occasions, the precedent eixsts.
