Thunder Rosa Signs With All Elite Wrestling

Thunder Rosa AEW

On Thursday afternoon, it was announced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW) that Thunder Rosa has officially signed with the company. Rosa had been working on a per-date type deal as her contract with National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) was still going on. The relationship between AEW and NWA allowed Rosa to be a part of the company for the past year.

Thunder Rosa is a former NWA World Women’s Champion as she held the championship for 271 days before losing it to Serena Deeb in October 2020. The 35-year-old made her AEW debut last year at All Out when she faced then-AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida for the championship. She has since appeared for the company almost weekly and currently ranks number two in their rankings for this year. With the loss of Nyla Rose, she is likely to climb to number one and have a date with Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s World Championship down the line.

This signing comes on Rosa’s birthday Thursday as she is now officially #AllElite. Seeing that she has what many fans call to be the best women’s match in AEW’s history in her back pocket with Baker already, it will be interesting to see what Rosa can do now that she is an official AEW talent moving forward.
