Preview: AEW Dynamite (6/11/21) – Miro Defends the TNT Title

Miro AEW

If the events of last week are anything to go by, AEW Dynamite has certainly established its status as a must-watch show. Even if the show has been airing on Friday and not Wednesday nights.

Last episode saw the debut of the “World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry, as well as a hint pertaining to his future in the company. Not to mention the very surprising signing of an “Idolo” considered as one of the hottest free agents in wrestling, Andrade, is now #AllElite. All Elite Wrestling never fails to make a splash week in and week out. So, rest assured the latest edition of Dynamite won’t be anything less than spectacular.

Now that fans are back in full force, let the good times roll. A trios match is set for this week among Elite brothers against uneasy allies. A bounty lays over the head of an “Instant Classic” courtesy of a money-hungry foe. And a TNT Championship defense you do not want to miss as the hulking champion defends against a very “Evil” challenger. And much much more! So sit back, relax, and, dial in! Because “It’s Friday Night, and you know what that means!” Time for some AEW Friday Night Dynamite. Let’s run it down.

Full Match Card:

  • Lance Archer (w/ Jake “The Snake” Roberts”) In Action
  • Cody Rhodes Will Make A Special Announcement (w/Tony Schiavone)
  • Sting & Darby Allin Announcement

  • Trios Match: AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks & Brandon Cutler vs. PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo & Eddie Kingston
  • TNT Championship Match: Miro (c) vs. Dark Order’s Evil Uno

The Enemy Of My Enemy

On last week’s show, The Young Bucks came out of the other side victorious against two-thirds of Death Triangle. It seemed like PAC and Penta El Zero Miedo were well on their way to defeating the AEW World Tag Team Champions and possibly moving up the AEW Tag Team Rankings if they were successful in the non-title match. But, unfortunately, the Bucks received a big assist from their lackey Brandon Cutler to give them an advantage. As PAC was just about to ready to hit the Black Arrow for the win, Cutler intervened on behalf of the Bucks and knocked PAC off the top rope, ultimately costing Death Triangle the match altogether.

But, the shenanigans did not stop there. Matt and Nick Jackson along with Cutler proceeded to beat down Penta and PAC three-on-two right after the match. It was a distasteful act from the World Tag Team Champions as the match was already over. But the Bucks being who they are now, wanted to take every shortcut and took advantage of the opportunity of incapacitating two worthy challengers for their titles. They did the same thing to Rey Fenix earlier in the night, attacking him backstage, so he could not accompany his friend and brother to ringside.

Eddie Kingston finally hit the ring as he could not stand idly by while the Bucks laid the beatdown. Kingston as well as Jon Moxley, has a storied past with The Young Bucks. Matt and Nick would hit multiple BTE Triggers at Double or Nothing leaving Mox incapacitated and putting him on the shelf. Kingston would help out his former friends PAC and Penta to even the odds. The Bucks and Cutler expectedly retreated when Eddie entered the fray.

Backstage, Kingston was being interviewed when PAC and Penta El Zero Miedo crashed the party. The duo said they did not need Eddie’s help. But, Kingston would go on to say the old adage “The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend.” Thus, the match is set for this Friday night. Matt, Nick, and, Cutler versus PAC, Kingston, and, Penta. Something’s got to give. Will The Elite come out victorious by any means necessary or will this unholy trinity hold up just long enough to get their revenge?

The Beast Versus The Evil One

Miro has been on one heck of a roll since taking the TNT Championship from Darby Allin. He decisively defeated Top Flight’s younger half, Dante Martin, and in brutal fashion too. Then onto the “Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer, he went. At Double or Nothing, he would carry out an assault unlike any other against a very game Archer scraping by to retain his title. Miro seems unstoppable even in the early stages of his run as the champion of TNT. And on this week’s show, he faces the Godfather of The Dark Order in the form of Evil Uno. The Dark Order would love to bring the title back in their midst to honor their leader. Uno has vowed that he will bring back gold to his Dark Order brethren come Friday Night.

But, it won’t be an easy task. Not by a long shot as Miro is hellbent on keeping the TNT Championship around his waist for as long as humanly possible. Evil Uno should be in “Game Mode” come, AEW Dynamite. Because this might just be his toughest test yet. Will Miro once again bulldoze his way over another opponent en route to retaining his championship? Or will Evil Uno retrieve the lost gold The Dark Order craves to get back?
