‘Heels,’ Wrestling Drama Starring Stephen Amell, Releases First Official Trailer

Heels STARZ

Stephen Amell, actor and star of the CW’s Arrow series, will be the lead in Michael Waldron’s new professional wrestling-driven STARZ drama series Heels. He will play the character Jack Spade, a professional wrestler who attempts to make something special out of his late father’s wrestling promotion in Georgia. Guest-starring in the series will be none other than CM Punk. On Sunday, they released the first trailer for the show.

Here’s a look.

Amell is known to many wrestling fans due to his involvement inside the squared circle. Amell first competed for WWE at SummerSlam 2015, teaming with Neville (aka PAC) to face and defeat King Barrett and Stardust (Cody Rhodes). The program with Rhodes sparked a friendship between the two, leading to Rhodes appearing in Amell’s Arrow series on multiple occasions. It was clearly only the beginning for Amell inside the ring, as he would step back in once again two years later. This time, the location would be Ring of Honor‘s Survival of the Fittest. He would team with Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks as an honorary member of the Bullet Club. They would defeat the team of Flip Gordon and SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky).

One year after that, he would have what would be his latest match so far at ALL IN in 2018. He faced off with former ROH World Champion Christopher Daniels in his very first singles match, showing the world that he belonged in the ring. While he came up short, it displayed one of the best celebrity showings ever.

Now, Amell steps inside the ring once again in Heels, a show expected to be a must-see for fans around the world.
