W. Morrissey, FKA Big Cass, Makes IMPACT Wrestling Debut

W. Morrissey IMPACT Wrestling

The newest IMPACT Wrestling star is seven feet fall and that can’t be taught. During tonight’s Rebellion pay-per-view, W. Morrissey, also known as CaZXL and formerly known as Big Cass, made his IMPACT debut in a major way. It’s been speculated, by Fightful and other outlets, that the New York native’s debut for the promotion was imminent. Now that he seems to be officially part of the IMPACT roster, he may very well be one of the men to beat en route to the top of the company.

W. Morrissey was the replacement for Eric Young in Violent By Design‘s match against the four-man team of James Storm, Chris Sabin, Eddie Edwards, and Willie Mack. Young suffered a legitimate ACL tear last month, putting him out of action. VBD teased a replacement member, which was revealed to be the seven-foot powerhouse. Morrissey was tagged in early in the match, asserting his authority over Storm and his other opponents. All the while, Young shouted instructions from the stage. Morrissey picked up the win for his team following East River Crossing on Mack.

Most wrestling fans will best know W. Morrissey during this time as Big Cass in World Wrestling Entertainment. He signed with the company in 2011, reporting to their developmental territory at the time, Florida Championship Wrestling. Once FCW dissolved and NXT took its place, he started to see more success. His partnership with Enzo Amore, whether on NXT or the main roster, made for entertaining moments. Amore’s energetic, bombastic attitude complemented his taller ally’s more composed demeanor. In the years that followed, they would fracture off as singles competitors. The seven-footer would be released from the company by 2018.

Morrissey would begin appearing on the independent scene, most prominently for Northeast Wrestling. Perhaps his notable independent match took place in June of 2019, when he faced Jon Moxley in a surprise match-up at NEW’s Six Flags Slam Fest event. Earlier this year, he appeared for Southwest Wrestling Entertainment, aligning himself with fellow former WWE Superstar, Melina.
