Ice Ribbon 1105

Ice Ribbon returns to 176BOX in Osaka, Japan on March 20th with another fun card that features the International Ribbon Tag Championship on the line in the main event.  Let’s preview the action for Ice Ribbon 1105 in 176BOX!

Risa Sera, Tsukushi Haruka & Ibuki Hoshi v Uno Matsuya, Tae Honma & Thekla

The show kicks off with Thekla and Tsukushi Haruka meeting again after Haruka defeated her to retain her IW19 title back in February. Since then, they’ve even teamed up together which made for an interesting pair. This match however serves as a preview for Risa Sera and Thekla’s match in April for Risa’s FantastICE Championship. Joint Army’s Tae Honma and Uno Matsuya have won in six-person tags alongside Cherry but haven’t won as a pair since November 2020. While Ibuki Hoshi is still early in her career compared to everyone else, she has defeated Uno Matsuya multiple times. This is bound to be an exciting matchup especially with the history between Thekla and Tsukushi.

Ram Kaichow, Rina Yamashita & Yuuki Mashiro v Hamuko Hoshi, Mochi Miyagi & Akane Fujita

Rina Yamashita has a birthday celebration with this six person tag. The unofficial member of RebelxEnemy and the rookie of the year, Yuuki Mashiro, tags along with Rina and Ram Kaichow to take on the Frank Sisters and Hamuko Hoshi. Historically, both teams have quite an even matchup in multi-person tags. However, having the fun rookie alongside RebelxEnemy could hold them back from winning since the other team has so much experience. Hopefully, Rina can pick up the win as a birthday present.

Hiroyo Matsumoto & Kurumi Hiiragi v Saori Anou and Suzu Suzuki

Hiroyo Matsumoto returns to Ice Ribbon once again to team up alongside Kurumi Hiiragi. The last time Hiroyo was in Ice Ribbon it was actually as Saori Anou’s teammate at the big RE:BORN show in February where they, alongside Ram Kaichow, beat the Frank Sisters. Hiroyo and Kurumi make a strong team so it will be interesting to see how they work together in this match. Saori and Suzu have teamed up a few times recently despite facing each other in singles matches but they have picked up wins together. This is certainly going to be an entertaining tag match to keep an eye on especially since the winner is much harder to define.

Tsukasa Fujimoto v Miku Aono

The current IcexInfinity champion Tsukasa Fujimoto faces Actwres girl’Z wrestler Miku Aono in a non-title match. This is the first time these women will be having a singles match against each other. Although Miku has only had a handful of matches in Ice Ribbon during 2021, she has been doing some solid work in her home promotion of Actwres girl’Z, although that is mostly in tag team matches. As always, Tsukasa has one of the highest work rates in the company while still appearing in SEAdLINNNG and getting wins in both promotions. While this isn’t for the championship, Tsukasa will more than likely pick up the victory in what is expected to be a great match between these two.

The International Ribbon Tag Championship is being defended for the third time by the current champions Maya Yukihi and Maika Ozaki in the main event of the show. Itsuki and Totoro have challenged for the tag titles together before but this was back in 2019 so their chances aren’t looking the strongest. Yuki and Maika have been doing great work together in the unit RebelxEnemy, defending the title against Joint Army at RE:BORN and Winter Story in two excellent tag matches. With Yuki’s IcexInfinity championship match coming up against Tsukasa, she will want to keep up some good momentum by winning alongside Maika. Expect the champions to retain once again.
