Beyond Wrestling Returns with New Signature Series on IWTV

Signature Series

On Sunday, Beyond Wrestling announced its return with a huge announcement. Starting this Thursday, February 25th, they will be returning to IndependentWrestling.TV with a brand new show, The Signature Series. The promotion confirmed the news in a story by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. The Signature Series will be Beyond’s latest endeavor into a series on the streaming platform; previously, they had run two successful seasons of Uncharted Territory

The Signature Series will highlight areas of independent wrestling that have not seen much spotlight. Beyond Wrestling owner and promoter Drew Cordeiro told Barrasso this about what to expect from the new series: “We were able to figure out what the independent wrestling scene was lacking, and put together a series focused on a specific style of technical wrestling,” He would also add: “Traditional technical independent wrestling is being overlooked, and tag team wrestling is always overlooked on the independent wrestling scene, and we’re going to highlight both. We’re also going to able to feature women’s wrestling, heavyweight wrestling, intergender wrestling, and hardcore wrestling.”

Set to be the focal point of this new series are the two tournaments that Beyond has been hyping up for the past several weeks. The Greatest Rivals Round Robin Tournament will feature Chris Dickinson, Wheeler YUTA, Tony Deppen, and Matt Makowski. The Tournament for Tomorrow will feature eight tag teams. These teams are Milk Chocolate (Brandon Watts & Randy Summers), The Rep (Nate Carter & Dave McCall), Mike Verna & Rex Lawless, Shook Crew (Bobby Orlando & Bryce Donovan), Faith In Nothing (Rickey Shane Page & Vincent Nothing), 40 Acres (Tre LaMar & PB Smooth), The Bird and The Bee (Willow Nightingale & Solo Darling), and the Nouveau Aesthetic (BLANK & Still Life with Apricots and Pears). Also announced for the first episode is a match between Trish Adora and Jordan Oliver

If this is how Beyond Wrestling intends to start back in, it’s going to be an incredible time in independent wrestling. Indie wrestling has been forced to wait and change in the current pandemic climate and Beyond has been very attuned to the situation. All performers and personnel will have to have a negative test in order to perform. Due to the lack of ability to have large crowds at this time, Beyond is taking the opportunity as a positive to return to their roots, as they started having no-fan shows back in 2009.

You can watch The Signature Series live and on-demand exclusively on IndependentWrestling.TV. Their premiere episode is Thursday, February 25th at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
