Preview: WWE – Friday Night SmackDown (7/17/20)

Friday Night SmackDown

The go-home episode of Friday Night SmackDown heading into The Horror Show at Extreme Rules will be a can’t-miss affair considering the championship match that is set to be the main event. Look forward to that and final builds to the PPV this Sunday on this edition of the SmackDown preview.

A Moment Of Bliss With A Mystery Guest

As soon as the segment was announced yesterday, WWE teased that this mystery guest would put SmackDown abuzz moving forward. Shocking, considering how little buzz SmackDown has had in the past month. Ahead of Extreme Rules this Sunday, it certainly could be a great move by the WWE to create buzz for the show and moving forward.

Firefly Funhouse Returns

Just two days away from the first-ever Wyatt Swamp Fight, this will be the first showing of Bray Wyatt since he resurrected his former self. One would figure that he will lay down the law on Braun Strowman for Sunday and possibly tease what may happen in the first-ever Swamp Fight.

Intercontinental Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Matt Riddle

Friday Night SmackDown

In Matt Riddle‘s SmackDown debut, he not only stood up to AJ Styles but faced him in a match. And it was in that match that Riddle defeated Styles in the middle of the ring with a Bro-Derek. Now, weeks later, Riddle gets his rightful shot at the Intercontinental Championship. A huge match for “The Original Bro,” as his rise to stardom on the blue brand seems to be in hyperspeed. Of course, there is the factor of King Corbin he may have to worry about considering their problems the past few weeks as well. No matter what, this is the biggest opportunity of Riddle’s short but impressive WWE career to this point.
