Glory Pro Tag Team Titles Vacated, New Champs To Be Crowned

Glory Pro

Glory Pro, based out of Alton, Illinois just north of St. Louis, Missouri, are set to return to live action on Saturday, August 1 at Peace Up, A-Town Down in St. Louis, and one of the planned matches was originally Glory Pro’s United Glory (Tag Team) Champions Halal Beefcake (Idris Abraham & Joe Coleman) defending their belts against the team Top Flight (Air Wolf & Angel Dorado), formerly known as the Flip Bros. On Tuesday, Glory Pro announced that due to personal issues, Halal Beefcake will be unable to defend their titles at the event and instead forfeited the titles to Glory Pro, with Top Flight now facing rising stars Alpha Omega (Camaro Jackson & Kenny Alfonso) to crown new United Glory Champions.

Halal Beefcake, veterans from the Midwest and Canadian (Southern Ontario) indie circuit, have appeared for the likes of Glory Pro and Detroit’s Xtreme Intense Championship Wrestling (XICW), as well as Canada’s Smash Wrestling, Border City Wrestling (BCW), and Federation de Lutte Quebecoise (FLQ), and has even appeared on several IMPACT Wrestling Twitch specials. The former Smash Tag Team Champions forfeit their Glory Pro titles after 227-days, capturing the belts at Steel Cage Challenge last November from No New FriendsDan the Dad and Keith Lee Davidson.

Top Flight is the new name for the duo of Air Wolf and Angel Dorado, two high-flyers from the Minnesota indie circuit who have been making names for themselves since 2016. Regulars with Minnesota’s F1RST Wrestling and Independent Wrestling International (IWI), they made their Glory Pro debut last year, and this year debuted in Ireland with Over The Top (OTT) Wrestling this past February before the COVID pandemic hit. They continued their Midwest push by debuting with AAW Pro this January at A New Dawn. This will be a big chance to reclaim some gold, as their last set of titles was IWI tag team titles back in 2017.

Like Top Flight, Alpha Omega’s Camaro Jackson & Kenny Alfonso are another young tag team that are set to explode, having debuted together in Dynamo Pro in St. Louis in 2017, before becoming regulars in Illinois’ Proving Ground Pro (PGP), winning the PGP Tag Team titles in November 2018 for a 289-run as champs. Two phenomenal athletes, they made their Glory Pro debut in 2018 and have continued to impress, and while they will get a huge opportunity to become United Glory Champions, the two are also starting to garner interest as singles competitors in 2020 as well.
