If you thought Bayley was insufferable before, the results of Friday Night SmackDown will make the SmackDown Women’s Champion even more confident. In the main event of SmackDown, Bayley and Sasha Banks defeated Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. This is the second reign for both women, as they were the inaugural champions back in early 2019.
The win came in the closing minutes of SmackDown, as the final sequence saw frustrations rise between Bayley and Sasha. As Sasha applied the Banks Statement, Bayley tagged herself in and pushed Banks out of the ring so that she would not get disqualified. Banks was clearly angry about that, but still managed to get into the ring and break up the pinfall Cross had on Bayley. “The Boss” tagged herself back in. Bayley would keep Bliss from getting involved, allowing Banks to turn over Cross and get the three count to become the new champions.

The celebration that followed saw Bayley acting over the top with all her gold while Banks had somewhat of a stunned look on her face. It has been a while since she held gold in WWE, so this had to be a nice feeling. Their initial run with the titles lasted 49 days, so they will hope to better that this time around.
The title win now allows both women to travel to the other two brands as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. The possibility of both women returning to NXT has to be amongst the best scenarios with them as champions. Considering how great they have been as of late, they are more than likely to flourish once again with a new accolade in their holster. They just need to remain civil with each other.
