Preview: Shine 65 (2/29/20)

Shine 65

Shine Wrestling returns to La Boom in Queens, NY on February 29th for Shine 65! This is part of a special leap day doubleheader with EVOLVE 145. Shine will kick off at 3:00 PM to get the day start off with a bang. If you can’t make it out in person, it will be streaming live on WWN Live, ClubWWN or on Fite.TV.

Double D’Rose vs. Jenna

The Weapon of Ass Destruction, Double D’Rose, will be rolling into La Boom with the destruction of the Bionic Blond, Jenna, on her mind. These two have not yet clashed before and it will certainly be a hard-hitting encounter. Jenna is also known as the Muscle of Shine, as she is someone others rely on when they need to get the job done. Both of these women are coming off of losses to Natalia Markova. If they would like another shot at the Shine Nova Champion, a win at Shine 65 is the way to get noticed.

Alex Gracia vs. Stormie Lee

The Pink Dream is back on the scene at Shine 65! We last saw her at Shine 62, where Alex Gracia was victorious over Brandi Lauren. Gracia is also none too pleased that it’s Lauren receiving a Shine Nova Championship match. That’s because, at Shine 62, Brandi Lauren attempted to injure Gracia and caused a disqualification. Now Brandi Lauren has conspired with veteran Stormie Lee to take out the Pink Dream from Shine. Lee has a vicious streak longer than the distance from Florida to New York. Gracia will have to be on her top game to get the win over Lee.

Jay Raves vs. La Rosa Negra

The rave comes to Shine Wrestling! PLUR baby Jay Raves makes her debut at Shine 65. She may be newer to the scene, fresh out of the Chicago area but she’s more than ready to get the party started. She’ll be taking on La Rosa Negra, who is coming off a string of losses in Shine. The 17-year-veteran isn’t worried about the new girl on the block, but she better not overlook her too much or it could be another L for the Black Rose of Puerto Rico.

Vipress vs. Candy Cartwright

Another person making their debut at Shine 65 is the Serpent of Evil, Vipress. She’s been conjuring up her own brand of evil across the country the past few years. Vipress has appeared for companies like Blackcraft Wrestling, RISE Wrestling, and recently debuted for both Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and IWA Mid-South. Her personal “welcoming committee” will be none other than the Cutie Pie herself, Candy Cartwright. Candy promises to show her exactly what happens in Shine. She’s also got her eye out for Double D’Rose, as apparently they aren’t quite done with each other yet.

Shine Nova Championship Match
Natalia Markova (c) vs. Brandi Lauren

After winning the two-day tournament over Shine 63 and 64, Natalia Markova is your new Shine Nova Champion. At Shine 65, The Russian Crush will defend her prize against the entitled Brandi Lauren. Lauren seems to have it in her head that only she is deserving of the good things in Shine. The two have worked together in the past, but those times are long gone. Markova takes offense to the idea she isn’t deserving of the championship because she has worked very hard to get to the top of the mountain.

Shine Tag Team Championship Match
BTY (Marti Belle & Jayme Jameson) (c) vs. Avery Taylor & Brittany Blake

BTY became two-time Shine Tag Team Champions by upsetting Triple Aye at the Shine event in Orlando. The titles have not changed their opinion that they are better than everyone, including their opponents Brittany Blake and Avery Taylor. Blake and Taylor haven’t been a team for very long, nor was their intention to be a tag team. By random chance, Shine matchmakers put them together and they found they make a very good team. Now this unnamed dream team will have a chance to rise to championship level at Shine 65.

Shine Championship Match
Ivelisse (c) vs. Lindsay Snow

Ivelisse made history at Shine 64 when she defeated Mercedes Martinez and became the first-ever three-time Shine Champion. Martinez is gone now, having signed with WWE and Allysin Kay is gone as well. The self-proclaimed Baddest B**** in Wrestling is now demanding a challenge. Lindsay Snow came up short in the finals of the Shine Nova Championship tournament but performed admirably. So this is where Ivelisse has found her first challenge in this reign. The American Kaiju is not shying away from this golden opportunity at Shine 65. Her singular focus will be on seizing the golden ring set before her.
