#AndNEW: Kylie Rae Wins the BLP Midwest Championship

Kylie Rae BLP Midwest Championship

Earlier today, Kylie Rae won the BLP Midwest Championship. Black Label Pro held its Quantum Leap event at the RDS Gym located in Crown Point, Indiana. On this show, titleholder AJ Gray defended the BLP Midwest Championship against Rae. Gray held the title in question 217 days, having won it from Jake Parnell this past July. At Quantum Leap, Gray defended against Rae in one of the title matches of the night. After a competitive contest, Rae stood tall as the new champion.

This victory wasn’t easily earned, however.

Gray has been one of the premier independent wrestlers throughout 2019 and looks to make 2020 his year. In addition to holding the Glory Pro Wrestling Crown of Glory Championship, which he has held for over 160 days, he also ended Nick Gage‘s Game Changer Wrestling World Championship run. Given that Gage held the title in question for 722 days, Gray’s victory was that much more notable. In other words, “Smiley” Kylie had her work cut out for her.

With this victory, Kylie Rae made history in a few ways. She is the only woman to win the BLP Midwest Championship. Furthermore, she is only the fourth wrestler to win it overall. The only other competitors to be recognized as titleholders have been Gray, Parnell, and Kobe Durst.

Since her departure from All Elite Wrestling, Kylie Rae has wrestled across different companies.

These included, but haven’t been limited to, RISE Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, and of course, Black Label Pro. Prior to this recent victory, Rae’s most notable title victory was the Sabotage Wrestling War of the Genders Championship, which she captured this past January. She also won the Freelance Wrestling World Championship late last year from Ethan Page.

What does the future hold for “Kylie Three Belts?” Regardless, it’s safe to say that she will approach every new challenge with that trademark smile on her face.
