Preview: Beyond Wrestling – Please Come Back (1/25/20)

Please Come Back

The concept to Please Come Back is simple, some of Beyond’s regulars will pick competitors that have never competed in a Beyond ring before. It is like a tryout match but with some of the many talents that made Beyond’s Uncharted Territory the best weekly wrestling show on. With Beyond set to tape a developmental pilot episode on March 1st, this could be a huge chance for some of these wrestlers. Beyond’s Please Come Back will take place at Six Strings Grill and State right outside Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Josh Briggs vs Jake Something

Please Come Back

Announced as the main event of Please Come Back, Beyond regular Josh Briggs had a very up and down year. He spent much of season two in big matches like on the season two debut where he lost to Lance Archer and ended it losing the Tournament for Tomorrow in the first round and feuding it with best friend Anthony Greene. Briggs will be looking to kick off his 2020 with a big win over a wrestler who looks to be a breakout star in 2020 Jake Something. The Michigan wrestler has wrestled mostly for Black Label Pro, AAW and IMPACT!. In the main event spot expect big things from both of these wrestlers.

Orange Cassidy vs Dan Champion

2018 seems like such a long time ago but when the first Please Come Back happened Orange Cassidy faced off against Marko Stunt. Marko was just getting some buzz coming off of his debut at GCW while Orange Cassidy was kicking off what would end up being his biggest run in Japan. The two had a fun match that was a lot of people’s first or second time seeing Marko Stunt. Now both men are showing up weekly on AEW.

At the second Please Come Back Orange Cassidy will be facing off against long-time rival Dan Champion. The vegan big man hails from the Pennslyvania and wrestles for promotions all over the state including Excellence, Let’s Hang Out and Chikara. Orange Cassidy and Dan Champion have faced off in a mall for Let’s Hang Out. The AEW star will be looking to give the rub to his much larger opponent but he probably won’t put too much effort into it.

Kris Statlander vs TJ Crawford

Please Come Back

Without the first Please Come Back we may never would have seen Kris Statlander getting a chance to break out on Beyond’s Uncharted Territory. Kris Statlander’s first match was at the 2018 Please Come Back where she faced off with John Silver. This lead to her getting a book on both WWR and Beyond including multiple episodes of Uncharted Territory. Kirs would have great matches against Matt Cross, Joey Janela, Ophidian and Mercedes Martinez along with a cage match ending her feud with Kimber Lee. Now Kris Statlander is wrestling weekly for AEW and she will be looking to help give the same spotlight to another wrestler. She will be taking on TJ Crawford. The former Beach Bum spent most of 2019 wrestling as a solo star and has been promotions all over the country including Synergy Pro Wrestling, Batlle Club Pro, CZW and IMPACT!. Crawford is a Create-a-Pro wrestler which he has in common with Statlander that means these two should know each other pretty well and put on quite the show.

Chuck O’Neil vs Brian Pillman Jr.

Chuck O’Neil is one of the most hated men in Beyond Wrestling. The former MMA star has promised he will set out to return Beyond to it’s glory days. He will be challenging Brian Pillman Jr who is exactly the type of wrestler he doesn’t want coming to Beyond, a high flyer. The son of WCW and WWF star Brian Pillman Jr has been making a name for himself and MLW. Pillman will be looking to have the fans on his side for his first Beyond match when he takes on Chuck O’Neil.

Bear Country (Bear Boulder & Bear Bronson) vs The Rep (Nate Carter & Dave McCall)

Please Come Back

Bear Country is coming off of a huge match at the start of the year against Team Tremendous in a Fans-Bring-The-Weapons match. The Ace’s of Beyond have chosen the tag team The Rep to challenge at Please Come Back. Bear Country and The Rep have faced off in CZW at the 2019 Cage of Death. They will be having the rematch in front of a new set of eyes at Please Come Back.

John Silver vs Eric James

John Silver had an up and down year in Beyond. The AEW Dark Order member spent the last few months of 2019 creating a pretty large win streak including matches against Daniel Garcia, Eddie Kingston, and Kris Statlander. Silver will be facing off against Eric James who might be better known as Lana’s First Husband from the infamous Wedding Angle. Eric James took a chokeslam so well from Lashley that Silver requested him for his match. The Create-a-Pro wrestler was trained by Curt Hawkins and Pat Buck and will be looking to make a good performance in his match against one of Beyond’s most beloved wrestlers, John Silver.

Solo Darling vs Jakob Hammermeirer

Please Come Back

Solo Darling was one of the breakout stars of Season 1 of Uncharted Territory and made a few appearances with tag team partner Williow Nightingale during Season two. The current Campejonas De Parajas of Chikara will be taking on a Chikara veteran in Jokob Hammereirir. Jokob has been wrestling with Chikara in Chikara for almost 11 year and returned in 2019 with the Wilberbeast. Chikara’s past will take on Chikara’s present when these two meet.

Whatever it Takes vs Maine State Posse

Through some underhanded tactics Whatever It Takes was able to string together some impressive wins after becoming a team at the start of season two. At Please Come Back Alex Reynolds and VSK will take on tww high flyers who have been showing up all over the independent circuit, Maine State Posse. The high flying team are based out of New England and regulars at Limitless Wrestling so they will be looking for a huge win to join the largest New England indie Beyond Wrestling.

Willow Nightingale vs Jaden Valo

Please Come Back

The other half of Chikara’s tag titles Williow Nightingale will be taking on Jaden Valo.  Valo is mostly known for working with the New York Wrestling and is part of a tag team known as Punk Relics.  Velo has yet to really break out in a big way so this is a huge opportunity.

Anthony Greene vs Little Mean Kathleen

Beyond regular Anthony Greene will take on one of his trainees in Little Mean Kathleen. Greene has also trained both Platinum Hunnies and made them a regular part of his matches so we will see what he has planned in his match with Little Mean Kathleen.

Oswald Project

Oswald Project is set to have the biggest year of his career in 2020. The sure-fire breakout star has already wrestled for Limitless, Chikara, and GCW and come Wrestlemania weekend he will be one of the most talked-about talents in independent wrestling. Oswald’s opponent has yet to be announced but expect this to be one of the bigger breakout stars of the night.
