The Bitch Is Back: The Return of ODB

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, ODB (One Dirty Bitch) was a constant presence in the TNA/IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Division. Although she had a few matches in 2004, it wasn’t until 2007 that ODB would become a regular until departure in 2014. A 4x IMPACT Knockouts Champion, ODB left TNA for Ring of Honor, where she spent two years as a companion to The Briscoes. She returned in 2017 to TNA, before leaving the business to concentrate on her own business, The Meat & Greet Food Truck. While she wrestled sporadically for special events, for all intents and purposes, it appeared like ODB entered a state of semi-retirement.

In early September of last year, tragedy struck, as the food truck burned to the ground, leaving ODB without a sizable portion of her income. While an Indie GoGo was created so fans could help her out, it wasn’t long before a familiar face stepped in to help – IMPACT Wrestling. Last November, IMPACT invited ODB to partake in the TV tapings in New York City, donating all proceeds to help the former KO Champ out. She even scored a non-title victory over current KO Champ, Taya Valkyrie. But those weren’t the last we’d see ODB in an IMPACT ring.

Returning to IMPACT last fall wasn’t the only high profile returns she had in 2019 either – the week prior to her tragedy, ODB was one of the stars who competed for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in the Women’s Casino Battle Royale at All Out. She tossed out newcomer Ariel Piper (daughter of Rowdy Roddy Piper), before being eliminated by Britt Baker. She also appeared for Tommy Dreamer‘s House of Hardcore, and just recently, made her debut with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), appearing at the December 14 PPV, After the Fire, as the mystery tag team partner of NWA Women’s World Champion Allysin Kay. Just this past Sunday, she returned to IMPACT PPVs when she was added to the Knockouts Championship match at Hard To Kill, where she faced KO Champ Taya Valkyrie and Jordynne Grace in a triple threat.

It’s hard to say if she’ll return full time to action, but it’s been a real treat to see one of the original Knockouts still excite the imaginations of wrestling fans everywhere, and with exposure in IMPACT, NWA, and HOH, she’s getting herself back into the world of pro wrestling.
