#AndNEW: PCW ULTRA Sees Flurry of Title Changes at 4th Anniversary

On Friday night, California’s PCW ULTRA saw their entire landscape shift as three out of four titles changed hands during their celebration for their 4th Anniversary. PCW ULTRA held their first event back in January of 2016. Here’s a look at what went down.

It was a hometown dream come true, as California indie star Ruby Raze defeated Sumie Sakai to become only the third woman to hold PCW ULTRA’s Women’s Championship. A 9-year veteran of the West Coast indies, she now holds three belts, including the East Bay Pro Wrestling (EBPW) Women’s Champion and Alternative Wrestling Show (AWS) Women’s Champion. Sakai, who was also the first Women of Honor Champion in Ring of Honor, had her reign cut short at 154-days. A student from the Santino Bros. Wrestling School, the West Coast native also fights in Bar Wrestling, SHIMMER, RISE Wrestling, and more.

#AndNEW: Douglas James Wins ULTRA Light Championship

Now also a star with Major League Wrestling (MLW), Douglas James defeated PCW ULTRA Light Champion Jake Atlas and Dom Kubrick in a triple threat, to capture his second Light Championship. He last held the title for 287-days in 2017, before losing it to Shane Strickland (now NXT’s Isaiah “Swerve” Scott) in early 2018.

#AndNEW: Hammerstone Wins PCW ULTRA Heavyweight Championship

Another major star from MLW also struck PCW ULTRA gold, as Alex Hammerstone defeated Lucha Underground‘s Mil Muertes to capture his first PCW ULTRA Heavyweight Championship. Hammerstone has been a West Coast fixture for years now and is a former 2x Future Stars of Wrestling (FSW) Heavyweight Champion. The big man is now in possession of four belts, as he’s also the MLW National Heavyweight Champion, FSW Tag Team Champion, and West Coast Pro Wrestling (WCPW) Heavyweight Champion.
