Indie Watch: “Top Talent” Christian Casanova

Indie Watch is our regular series that looks at all of the amazing talents working the independent circuits around the world. Some are veterans revitalizing their careers, some are indie prospects hitting their peaks, while others are names to be on the watch for! In this edition, we look at a rising star from the New England area in “Top Talent” Christian Casanova.

Beyond Wrestling‘s Uncharted Territory has introduced many people around the nation, creating strong storylines with every person on their roster. One of the constant thorns in the side of Beyond for the first two seasons has been the stable known as Club Cam. Lead by a rising star in his own right, Cam Zagami, and his entourage of Major League Wrestling (MLW) and member of The Dynasty in Richard Holliday, former Spirit Squad member and WWE Superstar Ken Doane, and former CHIKARA enforcer Thomas Sharpe (formerly Blaster McMassive). But the most exciting member so far has been the man they call “Top Talent”, in Christian Casanova.

After training at the New England Pro Wrestling Academy with Brian Fury, Christian Casanova made his debut in 2013. He began in the New England indie circuit, working for Rhode Island’s Northeast Championship Wrestling (NCW), Massachusetts’ Chaotic Wrestling and Lucky Pro Wrestling (LPW), Connecticut’s Northeast Wrestling (NEW), and Maine’s Limitless Wrestling. Within his first few years, he was both the NCW New England Champion and Chaotic New England Champion.

His earliest faction was Killanova Inc., which also included Ken Broadway, Elia Markopoulos, Royce Bishop, and Trigga The OG (aka Triplelicious). In 2018, Casanova and Trigga The OG captured the Chaotic Tag Team titles. A combination of speed and athleticism, Casanova emerged as one of the top prospects in New England and the East Coast.

Casanova first encountered Cam Zagami in 2015, when he worked alongside Zagami’s tag team at the time, The Cam-An Connection (which also featured Anthony Greene). He made his Beyond debut in 2015, but it wouldn’t be until this year that his star finally shone like it should. He returned to Beyond this year for the first season of Uncharted Territory, where he won the Discovery Gauntlet on episode 12 by defeating fan favorite Thomas Santell to advance in the ongoing match series. He defeated Leyla Hirsch, Breaux Keller, and Kobe Durst, for four straight victories, until he was defeated on episode 16 by “Red Death” Daniel Garcia.

Since then, he’s been appearing as a regular with Beyond Wrestling, joining Cam Zagami’s new stable, Club Cam, who have been pestering the Beyond faithful for over a year now. Sadly, Casanova has been on a losing streak the past few weeks and don’t think Cam Zagami hasn’t noticed. In recent weeks, Club Cam has been tiring of Casanova’s losing streak and tensions are currently high within the group – it’s only a matter of time before he is kicked out and, in doing so, will skyrocket as a face on Uncharted Territory.
