Raw Highlights Rundown – Women’s Championship Showcase (10/7/19)

Raw Highlights

Just days away from the WWE Draft that will set the rosters for both Raw and SmackDown for the foreseeable future, Monday Night Raw came and gone and it wasn’t the best to say the very least. A show full of filler as we just try and get to the draft. Starting on Friday rather than Monday is a weird move, but all makes sense with FOX needing the numbers more than anyone. Anyways, here are the RAW highlights.

Raw MVP: Women’s Championship Showcase

One and only one highlight for Raw last night. It all kicked off with a Miz TV featuring both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champions, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. Miz would congratulate both of them on a job well done the night before at Hell in a Cell. This would, of course, lead to both taking shots at each other, with “The Man” saying Charlotte was holding the belt she made famous while Charlotte came back saying she made Becky Lynch famous. Things got tense as they got in each other’s faces before the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, The Kabuki Warriors, made their way out. Unfortunately, I do not speak Japanese because Asuka and Kairi Sane were laying it in and it was entertaining with the fire they showed. The four women brawled before heading to commercial to kick off the match.

Raw Highlights: Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs The Kabuki Warriors

The championship showcase was on and boy did these four women give it their all in a simple tag team match. Most of the feeling each match last night was that everyone was hoping to prove themselves ahead of the WWE Draft on Friday, and this match was no exception. Charlotte hit a big-time moonsault to the outside on both Asuka and Kairi which was an early highlight in the match.

Towards the end, Sane chopped down Charlotte, taking out the back of her leg in a devastating way. This led to Becky putting on the Dis-Arm-Her to Sane but the referee was checking on Charlotte who was aiding her leg. With the referee turned, Asuka spit the green mist into the eyes of Lynch, allowing Kairi to roll her up and pick up the huge victory. More of a brawl broke out with Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss getting involved, but the highlight of the night was this match.

Much of the night was leading to Tyson Fury and Braun Strowman facing off, but that was a small tease to what we can imagine. A welcoming sign was the showcase matches that mostly highlighted Ricochet and Aleister Black, two men who should be huge parts of the upcoming draft. Be sure to check back all week for AEW Dynamite, NXT, and WWE Draft coverage on SmackDown.
