#AndNEW: The Pretty Bastards Win wXw World Tag Festival, World Tag Titles

This year’s edition of the Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) World Tag Team Festival saw a field of international and domestic tag teams compete in Germany to win wXw’s annual tag team extravaganza and be crowned the new wXw World Tag Team Champions. After a last-minute injury forced Julian Pace to withdraw his team, VollGasteren, alongside Leon van Gasteren, from the tournament, the team of Prince Ahura and Maggot – together the Pretty Bastards – were a last-minute substitute in the tournament. But luck struck the subs and they advanced through the tournament, defeating Jay-AA (Absolute Andy & Jay Skillet), David Starr & Norman Harras, and then finally upsetting the Arrows of Hungary and NXT’s Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch in the finals, to win the 2018 wXw World Tag Festival and become crowned the new wXw World Tag Team Champions.

Products of the wXw Academy, the Pretty Bastards have been teaming together since 2017, working with German Hurricane Wrestling (GHW), Classic Wrestling Entertainment (CWE), and other indie promotions in Germany and Europe, before finally clicking in wXw in 2018. They’ve seen the lights more often than not in their wXw career so far, but elsewhere they’re also the reigning GHW Tag Team Champions. They picked up their first win in wXw this past January – over finalists Arrows of Hungary – and have looked considerably better this past year, and now with a huge upset victory at the World Tag Team Festival, the Pretty Bastards now have the gold to show all their hard work has paid off.
