Preview: WWE – Hell in a Cell (10/6/19)

All the excitement in the air this week and Hell in a Cell will be the perfect book end for it all. It has been a slow build, with much of it coming for the Friday Night SmackDown debut on FOX, but no fear as this PPV will certainly be a must-see show. Two hell in a cell matches on hand and a rather small card to WWE’s standards makes it an interesting card ahead of the total reset next week during the WWE Draft. Hell in a Cell will be a night to remember in history.

Daniel Bryan & Roman Reigns vs Erick Rowan & Luke Harper

Hopefully this story is finding a result. Months after someone tried to kill Roman Reigns, who is supposedly Erick Rowan, we have a final match. Reigns will team with Daniel Bryan, who has been accused for months of being the true attacker or at least the mastermind, to take on Rowan and Luke Harper. Rowan and Harper have made hell a more enticing destination as of late for both men as Bryan and Reigns have been beaten and battered ahead of this one. There is no question that Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan are among the elite in the WWE, but the only way they walk out standing tall is if they can coexist. That remains to be seen.

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs Charlotte Flair

The most recently added bout comes off the Friday Night SmackDown debut on FOX. In the Four Horsewomen’s Tag Team match, it was Charlotte Flair who picked up the victory for herself and “The Man” when she made the SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley tap out in the middle of the ring. Because of this, we are headed for a rematch from Clash of Champions with Charlotte still looking for championship reign number 10. Bayley is going to do everything in her power to survive and retain much like their last match, but it seems Flair may have reached an even higher level. Bayley vs Charlotte one more time as the draft could separate these two rivals.

Raw Women’s Championship, Hell In A Cell: Becky Lynch (c) vs Sasha Banks

Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. A rivalry everyone wanted and has certainly got. Since winning the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania, “The Man” has almost been unbeatable. Step in Sasha Banks, who now gets her second shot inside Hell in a Cell this Sunday. Their first match at Clash of Champions was a show stealer, but unfortunately found no real solution as the swing of a steel chair by the champion connected with the referee, ending the bout. Now these two women get to stand inside a structure that only two women have before, and one of them just happen to be Sasha Banks. Banks wants to prove to everyone that this is her division. The only way to do that is go into hell and walk out #AndNEW Raw Women’s Champion. Hard to believe “The Man” would let that go easily.

Universal Championship, Hell in a Cell: Seth Rollins (c) vs “The Fiend”

This just happens to be the second bout in the time of “The Fiend”, but it may be as much anticipated, if not more than the first. Universal Champion Seth Rollins perhaps is looked at in this match as the underdog. After weeks of Bray Wyatt teasing what “The Fiend” might due to Rollins and the creatures of the Firefly Fun House being afraid of what will happen to Rollins. The unsureness of what “The Fiend” will be able to do when inside Hell in a Cell has to sit in the mind of the champion at this point. Week after week of hearing “see you in hell”, Sunday is officially the time for him to hurt Seth Rollins rather than heal. Can the champion survive and manage to retain? Or will “The Fiend” take over Raw with this victory?

With just four matches announced at this time and only one day to go, the WWE is more than likely be making some matches available via Twitter and WWE.com (proven with Bayley vs Charlotte) as there is absolutely zero chance we get a four match card.
