On Saturday, four independent promotions – Canada’s Smash Wrestling and Femme Fatales plus the US’ SHIMMER and RISE Wrestling – joined forces to present The Summit, featuring a stunning array of women’s indie wrestling. SHIMMER Champion Nicole Savoy defended her belt against Nicole Matthews, while Femme Fatales Champion Mercedes Martinez defended her crown against Jordynne Grace in a classic. But the two other championship matches saw new champions crowned, including Rosemary winning the first SMASH Women’s title.

#AndNEW: Rosemary Wins Inaugural Smash Women’s Championship

IMPACT Wrestling‘s Rosemary got her start as a character in Smash Wrestling and for years, she was one of Smash’s most dominant wrestlers period. On Saturday, she faced KC Spinelli (hot off her own WWE tryout), a former IMPACT Knockout who has also gained cult status as a member of Smash Wrestling. In the end, the “Wrath shard” of Courtney Rush proved to be too powerful for Spinelli, and Rosemary walked out Smash Wrestling’s first Women’s Champion.

#AndNEW: Ariel Monroe Wins Phoenix of RISE Championship

Also on Saturday’s card, Phoenix of RISE Champion Zoey Lucas tried to defend her title against “Big Swole” Ariel Monroe, but it was the 2018 Mae Young Classic contestant who won the battle in a hard-hitting affair. A regular with Shine Wrestling, SHIMMER, RISE and multiple other indies, it marks her first major title win.
