At night two of Smash Wrestling‘s The Northern tournament, Kevin Bennett defeated Tarik to become the new Smash Champion after a ref bump that lead to a near locker room clear out where a barrage of wrestlers, lead by Smash Tag Team Champions Halal Beefcake (Idris Abraham & Joe Coleman), stormed the ring to beat down the champion, leading to Bennett’s pinfall.

Kevin Bennett Wins Smash Championship
It marks a long journey for the Buffalo native (and one of the infamous Buffalo Brothers), who debuted with Smash Wrestling back in 2015. The 8-year pro is also a regular with his hometown Empire State Wrestling (ESW) where he’s a former ESW Heavyweight Champion. For years now, Bennett and his faction, The Kevin Bennett Experience, have been one of the most hated villains in the company, and now the crooked MC is the top of the food chain in Toronto’s Smash Wrestling.

To close the night, Mike “Speedball” Bailey won The Northern tournament itself, in a Fatal Four Way final that also included Evil Uno of the Super Smash Bros, Tyson Dux and Jason Kincaid to become the new #1 contender and first challenger for Bennett’s championship.
