Air Wolf vs Ace Austin

We wondered right here on these pages who Air Wolf’s next opponent would be and now we know. Thank you Court Bauer. Air Wolf is coming off a victory over Rey Fenix in a win that shook the foundation of the Middleweight Division and made the Luchador from Minnesota a household name. Ace Austin has done some foundation-shaking of his own in a losing effort when he nearly took the World Title off Teddy Hart in Gotham. Now he wants to slow the roll of Air Wolf who could be looking directly at a Title shot with a win Saturday night.

Austin Aries vs Adam Brooks

Two men make their MLW debuts in a sneaky good match. I had the opportunity to see Adam Brooks twice out west and came away impressed with his smooth move set and a well-timed aerial attack. Aries arrives looking to agitate and get under people’s skin and few are better than he is. He also happens to be a high-quality grappler who is an immediate threat to any of the MLW Champions like Tom Lawlor, and Teddy Hart.

Kotto Brazil vs Richard Holliday

Photo: MLW

Richard Holliday emerges from the shadow of the Dynasty into singles action against one of the Top Middleweights in Kotto Brazil. Brazil has shown no ill effects from the eye injury that forced him to wear a patch. We will see if Holliday’s Marketable promo chops equal his ring game and we know if things go sour he’s got two other fellas, he can rely on.

Gringo Loco vs Myron Reed

Photo: MLW

Myron Reed has chosen to “talk softly and carry a big stick” or just put tape over your mouth and say nothing. Reed beat Ace Austin recently and a win over Loco could vault him into the Title mix. Gringo Loco is still reeling from the “Nightmare Pendulum” inflicted on him in Manhattan and hopes to get back to his winning ways. Myron Reed has shined with Rich Swann and continues to move up the Middleweight rankings.

Flamita vs Rey Horus

Photo: MLW

Rey Horus has been sensational since arriving in the Major League’s and faces Top International Star Flamita in a match that will take the crowd’s breath away. At 24 Flamita has already seen his share of big matches in Japan, England and Mexico but Rey Horus will be ready. Just one of several chomping for a Title Match and this is another contest that could help make that picture clearer.

Falls Count Anywhere: Sami Callihan vs Mance Warner

Both these guys have had their fair share of problems with Promociones Dorado but really who doesn’t? We could list them here but let’s just move on. Now, these two end up in a Match that will go anywhere, but most of their matches end up like that.

MJF vs Davey Boy Smith Jr.

Photo: MLW

What’s not to love about MJF, but he certainly has his hands full with arguably the biggest and 2nd strongest wrestler in MLW. Maxwell is comfortable with opponents like Smith and will find the appropriate strategy to get the win and more than likely it’ll involve cheating, interference from outside, and more cheating. Not necessarily in that order. Davey Boy Smith is a powerhouse and will look to pound Maxwell Jacob Friedman into a pulp. The Hart Foundation and the dynasty is been the best feud of 2019 in MLW…so far.

Low-Ki vs Ricky Martinez (w/ Salina De La Renta)

Photo: MLW

Former MLW Heavyweight Champion who boasted of a 14-year unbeaten streak takes on his former friend Ricky Martinez. Ki has felt left out recently by Salina De La Renta with his expiring contract and now has a chance to take out her “Sicario.” After Low-Ki and Martinez won a tag Match on MLW Fusion 59 Contra came out but Martines hit the bricks with his Manager in tow and high tailed it out of the Mellrose Ballroom. Now Martinez will have to face the “Professional” one on one. Or at least that’s how it’s booked but with Salina and her brood that rarely happens.

MLW Middleweight Championship: Teddy Hart vs Jimmy Havoc

Photo: MLW

“England’s Most Dangerous Man” lost to Tom Lawlor for the Heavyweight Title last time faces Hart for the Middleweight Strap and let’s hope the Cats and the Staple Gun don’t become key components of this contest. Havoc is a scary guy who only wants to hurt his opponent, but don’t be fooled by Hart’s showmanship and presentation. Teddy is the goods and possibly the best high-flyer in the game that springs off the ropes as well as anyone with sick hang time. Hart will need to go to a different place to get the win here as a traditional grappling strategy will not suffice.

MLW National Openweight Championship: Alexander Hammerstone vs Brian Pillman Jr.

Photo: MLW

Hammerstone beat Pillman in their first encounter and has not a lost a singles match since his arrival earlier this year. He’s laid a path of destruction not seen before in the League, and looks to prove who truly has the “Genetic Advantage.” Pillman has committed to cardio for the Title match in hopes of wearing down the Beefcastle and walking out of Waukesha the New National Champion.

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor & The Von Erichs (Ross & Marshall Von Erich) vs. CONTRA (Simon Gotch, Jacob Fatu & Joseph Samael)

Photo: MLW

CONTRA has made nearly every wrestlers’ life miserable including MLW World Heavyweight Champion Tom Lawlor, Ace Romero, and even Low-Ki. Vicious unwarranted attacks have forced the MLW Championship Committee to forgo a standard Title Match and book a Six-Man Main Event instead. Lawlor severely punctured Promociones Dorado during their feud and looks to take out Simon Gotch, Josef Samael, and Jacob Fatu. The match marks the debut of Ross and Marshall Von Erich who team with the Champion Saturday against the group that’s “bringing danger back” in a variety of vicious and maniacal ways. Now Lawlor and the Von Erichs have been called upon to stop them. Their Father turned back one of the great factions of all time in The Fabulous Freebirds, and now the boys will look to do the same.
