#WrestleManiaWeek Preview – SHIMMER 113 (4/5/19)

SHIMMER has been the top US promotion for developing and showcasing women’s wrestlers since 2005 and it continues to be a global leader in that aspect. They’re holding SHIMMER 113 in New York at La Boom at 11am and it will be airing live on Fite.tv. Lots of great showcases and title matches, featuring stars from around the world. In action but with no announced matches yet include Cheerleader Melissa, Shotzi Blackheart, Mercedez Martinez, LuFisto, Kris Statlander, Leva Bates, “The Renaissance Woman” Hyan, Brittany Blake and Veda Scott.

Kris Wolf, Solo Darling & Team Sea Stars (Ashley Vox & Delmi Exo) vs. The New Nation (Jessica Troy, Charli Evans & Zoe Lucas) & Allysin Kay

Kris Wolf‘s retirement tour is winding down, but first, she’s leading a squad in 8-woman tag team action. She’s pairing with CHIKARA regulars Solo Darling and The Sea Stars against Zoe Lucas‘s New Nation (featuring Aussie stars Charli Evans and Jessica Troy), who have found back-up in the form of Shine Champion Allysin Kay.

Twisted Sisterz (Thunder Rosa & Holidead) vs. Indi Hartwell & Steph De Lander

The Twisted Sisterz have emerged as a powerful tag team unit over the past year, holding the Shine Tag Team titles for 183 days. They’re facing an international tandem, as Australia’s Indi Hartwell and Steph De Lander (formerly FaceBrooke) look to make an impression on American soil.

Shazza McKenzie vs. Su Yung

Australia’s Shazza McKenzie is no stranger to SHIMMER – she debuted in 2012 and is a former Heart of SHIMMER Champion. She’ll need all that experience to help her take on former IMPACT Knockouts Champion Su Yung in what will be more of a brawl than a wrestling match.

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD vs. Tessa Blanchard

It’s All Elite Wrestling vs IMPACT, as AEW’s resident Dentist, Dr. Britt Baker takes on former Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard in what should be a classic.

Heart of SHIMMER Championship: Dust (c) vs. Samantha Heights

Dust lost her RISE of Guardians Tag Team titles recently, but she still holds on to her Heart of SHIMMER Championship, which she puts on the line on Friday morning. Ohio’s Samantha Heights is an emerging star out of Rockstar Pro who has been climbing the ladder of SHIMMER since 2016. But it won’t be easy, as Dust is managed by “The Demon Assassin” Rosemary, who just may find the need to assist her protegee should things turn sour.

SHIMMER Championship: Nicole Savoy (c) vs. Hiroyo Matsumoto

Nicole Savoy has been the SHIMMER Champion for over 500 days now, capturing the belt from Mercedes Martinez back in November of 2017. Since then, she’s defended against the likes of Cheerleader Melissa, Deonna Purrazzo, Kimber Lee, Su Yung, LuFisto, Britt Baker and Viper (Piper Niven) and remained unbeaten. She takes on some international competition, as she faces off against Japan’s Hiroyo Matsumoto. “Lady Godzilla” was a star in last year’s WWE Mae Young Classic, as well as a regular in Japan with Sendai Girls, OZ Academy and Stardom. She’s no stranger to SHIMMER either, making her debut in 2011, and alongside Misaki Ohata is a former SHIMMER Tag Team Champion.
