ESPN broke the official news today and WWE confirmed it. As we reported last week, from a report from WrestleVotes Twitter, Torrie Wilson is going to the WWE Hall of Fame in the Class of 2019, joining D-X and Honky Tonk Man.

When the rumors broke a few days ago, many fans lamented someone like Torrie Wilson – who more defined the Divas Era than women’s wrestling – entering the WWE Hall of Fame, but to her credit, there were few women’s sports-entertainers as popular as Torrie Wilson during the early 2000s. And in many ways, Torrie Wilson helped start a new trend in pro wrestling – she was a fitness model when she signed with WCW in 1999 and one of the very first brought into pro wrestling. Her immediate success lead to the WWE signing two peers of Wilson’s from the fitness model circuit, in Trish Stratus and Victoria. And one of Torrie’s biggest on-line supporters has come from former WWE Superstar and IMPACT legend Gail Kim.
