WWE Looking To Add More UK Women to NXT UK Roster

Kay Lee Ray

Hot on the heels of WWE announcing the opening of its first non-US based Performance Center in London, England on Friday and reports that Scottish indie star Viper is most likely headed to the WWE following the expiration of her World of Sport contract, it appears that the WWE has offered NXT UK deals to two other stars of the UK, according to Square Circle Sirens. According to reports, Scottish superstar Kay Lee Ray and English star Bea Priestley (who also grew up in New Zealand) have both been approached with NXT UK deals.

Kay Lee Ray is no surprise. The veteran of the UK indie circuit made her NXT debut in 2015 in an enhancement role against Nia Jax and in 2017 was a part of the first Mae Young Classic. Despite losing in the first round to Mexico’s Princess Sugehit, WWE was high on the Glasgow star. The 26-year old Kay Lee Ray has been wrestling since 2009, and is the reigning 3x Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) Women’s Champion and World of Sport Women’s Champion and is a former 3x Queen of Southside Wrestling Entertainment (SWE) Champion and Defiant Women’s Champion as well. Kay Lee Ray has also been one of the top stars for Pro Wrestling EVE, as well as working for Japan’s Stardom and other promotions like PROGRESS, IPW:UK, and Over The Top (OTT) Wrestling in the British Isles, SHIMMER, Shine Wrestling and RISE in the US, and Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) in Germany.

Bea Priestly has been wrestling since 2016, when she returned to the UK from New Zealand and became one of the early stars of Defiant Wrestling (then WCPW)’s women’s division. She had a lengthy feud with Nixon Newell (now Tegan Nox in NXT), capturing the Defiant Women’s Championship on two separate occasions. Priestly went on to work with PROGRESS, Pro Wrestling EVE, and RevPro, amongst others, and has worked extensively with Stardom for the past three years. She’s the current reigning Fight Forever Women’s Champion in England and is part of one of the UK’s wrestling power couples with NJPW star Will Ospreay.
