#AndNEW: Orange Cassidy Wins Independent Wrestling Championship

On Monday night, at Beyond Wrestling‘s Heavy Lies The Crown, Orange Cassidy ended the 309-day reign of “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams as the Powerbomb.tv Independent Championship, making it the first singles championship of Cassidy’s 14-year career. Since the victory, Powerbomb.tv has rebranded itself as IndependentWrestling.tv and the title will now be referred to as the Independent Wrestling Championship. The title was created in late 2017, with Jonathan Gresham winning the inaugural title, before losing it to Williams this past February. The title is defended at indie promotions available on IndependentWrestling.tv’s streaming service, primarily Beyond Wrestling, but also in NOVA Pro, ACTION Wrestling, Freelance Wrestling and TRUE Wrestling.

Orange Cassidy has been working the US indies since 2004, but gained early notoriety working with Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), EVOLVE and CHIKARA, where he is a part of the Gentlemen’s Club with Chuck Taylor, Jake Manning and Swamp Monster (WWE Superstar Drew Gulak is a former member). He made his Beyond Wrestling debut in 2014 and has since become one of Beyond’s regular stars.
