Bringing you more family-friendly fun in October is CHIKARA! This time they are presenting La Lotería Letal on October 27th. The La Lotería Letal or Lethal Lottery is the stuff pre-Halloween nightmares are made of! Sixteen of CHIKARA’s finest have been selected and eight tag teams will be formed at random. The teams will then compete in a single elimination tournament. The winners of La Lotería Letal will receive a very special prize. They will get a shot at the Campeonatos de Parjeas at the season 19 finale, Let’s Get Invisible! Now if the concept seems familiar, CHIKARA borrowed the Lethal Lottery concept from WCW. CHIKARA also hosted their first La Lotería Letal back in 2008.
All 16 of the La Lotería Letal participants have been revealed. The first batch of names is Hype Rockwell, Jessica Troy, Cam Zagami, Juan Francisco de Coronado, and Travis Huckabee. More names are Shazza McKenzie, Hallowicked, the Whisper, Ophidian, Rory Gulak, and BLANK. The last group is Solo Darling, Princess KimberLee, Oleg the Usurper, and Ice Cream Jr. Perhaps the most shocking participant is Missile Assault Man; he hasn’t been seen since 2017. He returned during the match where Lucas Calhoun, Jeremy Leary, and Blanche Babish were taking on the Proteus Wheel at Piano Lessons Can Be Murder.
There are many potential strange-bedfellows teams in the La Lotería Letal. Former foes The Whisper and Ophidian might be a team. Former tag team partners like Hype Rockwell and BLANK or Travis Huckabee and Solo Darling may be put back together. Friends and fellow Aussies Jessica Troy and Shazza McKenzie could either be teammates or facing each other. Anything can happen in La Lotería Letal!

Green Ant (II) vs. Volgar
It wouldn’t be CHIKARA without an Ant involvement, really. The Green member of the Colony will be taking on the massive Volgar of the Proteus Wheel. Both of these wrestlers would love to come away with a point towards a future Grand Championship opportunity. Green Ant would also like to not be squished or otherwise destroyed or maimed. That’s the general feeling when one is going to face a titan like Volgar, they just want to survive.
Young Lions Cup
Dangerhawk (c) vs. Still Life with Apricots and Pears
The Young Lions Cup will be defended at La Lotería Letal! Danjerhawk will be making his third defense of the cup against Still Life with Apricots and Pears. Danjerhawk first became the Young Lions Cup holder by defeating Cam Zagami earlier this year at Clan Wars. Still Life with Apricots and Pears has been fairly successful as a singles competitor. Arguably no one has had a better singles year in 2018 than Danjerhawk though. He made his CHIKARA debut and won the Infinite Gauntlet in the same night. And in his first singles outing? He won the Young Lions Cup. Will Danjerhawk’s streak continue? Or will Still Life with Apricots and Pears be the one to hoist the cup? Find out at La Lotería Letal!
CHIKARA Grand Championship Match: Dasher Hatfield (Interim Champion) vs. Sloan Caprice
In addition to the Young Lions Cup being defended, the CHIKARA Grand Championship will also be on the line. Interim Champion Dasher Hatfield will be making his second defense on Mr. Touchdown’s behalf. His challenger is one half of the current Campeonatos de Parejas, Sloan Caprice. Sloan captured his third point at the October 7th Hour of Power, by defeating Dasher’s son, Boomer Hatfield. Sloan has also defeated Mr. Touchdown in the not-so-distant past. The Closers (Sloan Caprice & Rick Roland) also defeated the Throwbacks (Dasher & Mr. Touchdown) earlier this season when they challenged for the Campeonatos de Parejas. Should Sloan Caprice be successful in attaining the Grand Championship, he would be the first person in CHIKARA to hold both major titles. Will Dasher Hatfield continue to safeguard the title for his step-cousin-in-law? Or will Sloan Caprice walk away from La Lotería Letal as both Campeonatos de Parjeas and Grand Champion?
