CONFIRMED: “Alpha Female” Jazzy Gabert Out of the Mae Young Classic

One of last year’s pleasant surprises was the debut of German indie star “Alpha Female” Jazzy Gabert in the WWE, who won over the Full Sail University crowd during last year’s Mae Young Classic, who went on to appear on NXT and was even offered a WWE contract. Sadly, during her medicals during the contract negotiations, a severe neck injury was discovered and her contract offer was rescinded. She ended up missing several months of activity after undergoing surgery and rehabilitation, before returning to the ring this past May. With the “Alpha Female” returning to the ring, many expected the popular star to return to this year’s Mae Young Classic II, but Jazzy Gabert herself shot down those hopes and rumors last night, announcing that she will NOT be a part of the 2018 edition of the tournament. Whether it was just because of the WWE going in a different direction with more new faces or whether she still hasn’t passed their medicals has yet to be confirmed.

A 17-year veteran of European wrestling indies, she began her career in 2001 with the German Wrestling Federation (GWF) and German Stampede Wrestling (GSW), before heading to other promotions, like Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw). She cracked into the UK scene in 2010, debuting with Pro Wrestling EVE, where she won the EVE Championship and held it for 233 days, and in 2012 began working with Japan’s Stardom. She’s also a former World of Stardom Champion, as well as Goddesses of Stardom (Tag Team) Champion and Artist of Stardom (Trios) Champion, as a member of the stable Kimura Monster-gun.
