Preview: CMLL Negro Casas 40 Aniversario (8/3/18)

Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) is aiming high for their next Arena Mexico show on Friday, which will feature the Anniversary of Negro Casas, the return of LA Park and several Ring of Honor wrestlers. Here’s a quick look at the top of the card.

LA Park, who previously announced that he was off the CMLL show, returns to Arena Mexico. The original Parka is tagging with Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. to face the team of “Toro Blanco” Rush & ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes (Jay & Mark Briscoe).

LA Park is Money

The show promise to be one of CMLL biggest shows of the year. LA Park has proven to be a huge attraction for the company, elevating their average from 5,000 fans per show to almost 11,000 in Arena Mexico. Park previously was removed from the CMLL show, seemingly concentrating on AAA, which held last week their AAA vs. ELITE show.

The former WCW superstar will wrestle in on the next AAA taping on Thursday alongside Pentagon Jr. to face the team of Psycho Clown and Pagano. The next day he is facing the ROH Tag Champions and Los Ingobernables leader in the historic Arena Mexico.

Back in March, Kingdom member and ROH wrestler Matt Taven shocked everybody in Arena Mexico when he defeated Volador Jr. and won CMLL’s most important championship, the NWA World Welterweight title. Taven has yet to have a defense of his championship and Volador Jr. will look to take down the former ROH Television Champion in his first one. This match would be the semi main event of the evening.

The 4.40 Negros Casas will be third from top in his Anniversary show. He will tag with Atlantis & Blue Panther to go against the team of Solar, Fuerza Guerrera & Octagon. Casas is revered as one of the best wrestlers to come out of Mexico. He started in the 80s and since then, he has never stopped. Chris Jericho loved his matches with Casas in Mexico and many other legends point out how Casas is a master of the ring, putting it up against the best young talents that there is.
