Six-year NFL veteran Tyler Eifert signed a one-year million contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. As of this posting, the exact value of the deal is unknown but it will keep Eifert with the team until the end of the 2019 season. Eifert has spent the entirety of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Tyler Eifert, Cincinnati Bengals Agree to Deal
Tyler Eifert appeared in just four games in 2018 for the Cincinnati Bengals. Starting in two of those games, the 6’6”, 255-pound tight end recorded 15 receptions for 179 yards and one touchdown. Unfortunately, Eifert suffered a gruesome ankle injury in Week Four against the Atlanta Falcons, prematurely ending his season midway through Cincinnati’s overtime victory.
Eifert initially entered the league as Cincinnati’s first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Appearing in 15 games as a rookie, Eifert made an immediate contribution to the Bengals’ roster. The first-year tight end recorded 39 receptions for 445 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Bengals earn their third-consecutive playoff berth.
Unfortunately, Eifert was unable to build off of his successful rookie season. Eifert suffered a dislocated elbow in the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, placing him on the injured reserve after just one game. While he was eligible to return later in the year, Eifert never managed to make it back onto the field for the 2014 season.
Eifert returned in 2015, posting the best season of his career. Playing in 13 games, Eifert recorded 52 receptions for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns throughout the season. His impressive play earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl, while Cincinnati earned the fifth-straight playoff berth. Unfortunately, Eifert suffered an ankle injury during the Pro Bowl, forcing him to miss the first seven games of the 2016 season. When Eifert finally returned to the field, the big tight end caught 29 passes for 394 yards and five touchdowns. Once again, Eifert finished the year on the injured reserve, this time with a back injury.
Injuries continued to plague Eifert over the past two years, as the former first rounder has played in just six games over the past two seasons. During that time, Eifert recorded 19 receptions for 225 yards and one touchdown.
